Seeing gifts in others
Bill a business man went to a college’s home to deliver some papers. When he drove through the posh neighborhood. He though this friend was doing well in his business. He pulled up in the college’s drive way and noticed the beautiful manicured lawn and the fabulous landscaping. In the drive way was vary expensive sports car. The house was very large and beautiful .It had stain glass entry doors. He was very pleased with what he saw. This home had wealth written all over it. He went to the front door and rang the doorbell. Bill was greeted by his college Jeff. Jeff asked him to come in. Bill stepped inside but could not believe his eyes. His breath was taken away at what he saw. What a difference there was from what he had seen outside of the house and what he was seeing inside the house. Bill thought am I in the same house I saw outside? Jeff said, come on in the kitchen. I’ll make you a sandwich. Bill was so shocked he could hardly move. As he made his way to the kitchen he had to step over toys and clothes and all kinds of mess. The house was in total disarray. There was not a clean spot any where. Bill had never seen anything like this in his life and could not believe the difference in the looks of the outside and the inside of the house .Jeff ask Bill what he would like on his sandwich. Bill stammered a little well, uh, I. Jeff I am sorry but I don’t think I can eat a sandwich. I don’t mean to be rude but there is just too much mess and no clean place to sit down and eat. Jeff said oh, I know. I am sorry about that but my wife is no house keeper. Bill said I can see that. And ask is your house always like this Jeff? Well yes it is, as long as I have been married. Bill asks and how long have you been married. Jeff answers, 18 years. Bill is almost speechless and shakes his head a little. Jeff, again apologies for the mess. Bill says can I ask you a question? Sure Jeff said ask away. Well I do not mean to poke my nose in to your business. But what did you see in your wife when you met her. Oh that is easy Jeff said she is the most wonderful person there can be. She is sweet and kind and loving. She makes me feel good and the listens to all my silly jokes and laughs and she is the best dancer there is. We love to take long walks together and just sit in the swing in the back yard and look at the stars. She is a wonderful woman. She is a kind loving mother and very talented in art. She is a real good cook and on top of all that, she is beautiful to look at. There her picture right there over the fire place. Indeed there was a beautiful woman in the portrait. She is the one that encouraged me in my business and that why we have all the nice things we have. If it had not been for her I would have gone no where in this business. She is very gifted and talented in may ways.
Bill says, but she doesn’t ever clean the house. Jeff says, no she don’t. It sometime drives me a bit crazy and it is embarrassing. I get on her about it some but it doesn’t do any good. It just hurts her feeling and she cries. Bill is quiet for a minute and then says, let me ask you this, How long would it take you to make $150.00? Jeff says, oh about an hour and half. Well, bill says, you know Jeff; there are people who are real good at cleaning house. It is their God given gift. These people like doing it so much they make a living at it. I have two ladies that clean my house every week and it stays clean all the time. I tell you what Jeff, I am going to hire these ladies to come to your house and clean it. I will pay for it this time and while they are cleaning I want you to take your wife out to eat and dancing and for a long walk in the park or along the beach. I want you to tell her jokes and enjoy her laughter. I want you to promise you will never ask her to do anything thing she is not gifted at doing like cleaning house. Your house will be clean from now on because these ladies will keep it clean a straight and that will give you and your wife time to be together and enjoy each other .You will enjoy your house being clean and that will ease a lot of tension. You will not have to be embarrassed ever again and you will only have to work an hours and a half more each week. It will be well worth it don’t you think
Jeff says, you know that would be great and my wife will be so happy about this. I don’t know why I never thought of it before now. Heck, I have yard men keep the yard so why not have people clean the house as well Thank you Bill, I am excited about this I cant wait to see the look on my wife’s face. She is going to love this and I am too.
And this is how I got a maid. I am not gifted in house keeping
