Thank you. What you said is like just what i needed to hear. Like i know the doctor explained alot of what to expect but i don't remember anything he said. I don't even really remember the hospital. But thank you very much. I'm sorry to hear of your injury. You can talk to me when ever you'd like :)

Close Brain Injury
On Sept. 6, 1997 I attempted to bridle an unbroken horse on the ranch I was living on. The horse apparently refused the bit, swung its head and the bridle bit hit me on the right front temporal lobe knocking me unconcious. I awoke from a coma at Brackenridge Trauma Center in Austin, TX about 3 1/2 weeks later with the dx diagnosis of severe closed head injury with swelling of the brain and a hematoma. Close Back Pain
I had my first back surgery for a ruptered disc at L4-S1 in 1986. My second surgery on L3-4 in 1996, My 3, 4 &5 surgeris on L2-3 and bone spur same area in 2006.
Treatments
- Bedrest Working / Worked
- worked for a while
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- worked for a while.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- worked very well. Added massage, epsom salt baths and extension exercises no pain in two years.
- Stretching Working / Worked
- I continue doing the exercises as given by the PT.
Open Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
I have a friend that has a tbi and was hit by a car, she has extreme anxiety/ptsd whenever she hears a siren. I'm joining the group to try and ynderstand her better, so I can help her.
Open Hysterectomy
Today is 1/16/09. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy at 1:00 yesterday. It took the anethesiologist MD with 22 years as a doc to stick me 6 times and never did get the IV in. I'm up, walking bathrooming by myself finally insisted on real food for supper not beef or chicken broth. Took 4 hours to get tylenol for no food headache. But hey I survived a TBI, 4 back surgeries and am so glad the Red haired visitor will never visit me again; cause the last year she never wants to leave.
