Hey Everyone,
As always hope you are all happy and well. I have had a week full of thought and prayers. My grandma was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and is said to be in stage 3 to 4. They also believe the tumor in her colon may be traveling into the wall of her liver. The doctor told her more than anything she needs to focus on the quality of her life. So she has to get the tumor removed above all else. Which there going to do in Chicago sometime next week it is looking like.
Now more so than ever I know why the job did not last! Im truely thankful I believe at the time I am where I need to be. I've been keeping my neices to free up my mom so she can be with my grandma through all of her tests and procedures. It is just happening so fast. She just turned 70 and has gone down hill so fast in the past couple of weeks.
It is just so hard to know she has to go through all of this. I know everything happens for a reason and we plan our paths in life. As much as one thinks their strong enough to handle death it never gets any easier. Just the thought of lossing her makes me sick right now.

UPDATE!!!
September 8, 2008
Grandma meets with the surgeon in the morning. Depending on what the P.E.T. Scan shows and how and where the cancer has spread. She will have to meet with two a specialist to remove the one in the colon and another if it has attached to the liver. So saying a few extra prayers tonight and we will see what the news is and where we are headed from here.

Grandma met with the surgeons and they want to do surgery as soon as possible. They told her that her case is very unique in the fact that the cancer is not isolated to the colon and liver. That some how it managed to get into the blood stream and effect an lympthnod not even near the colon and or liver area. So they wanted to do chemo first but believe that would cause more damage by shrinking the tumor and pulling on blood vesels. So surgery as soon as possible. They said the p.e.t scan looks good better than expected but they did find fluid around the heart which may or may not be related to the cancer. So that is being removed on wed of this week and then there will be an ok for surgery.

I'm so sorry Michelle.. My mom was diagnosed with Lung Cancer she had the surgery and is doing well now but I totally understand how you feel about happening so fast. It's like someone just turned your world upside down one day. Positive attitude goes a long way .. change diet -anti cancer foods do REALLY help. I'll be praying for you and your family.. If you ever want to talk I'm here since I totally understand what you are going through..
Hang in there and take one day at a time.. Hugs!
