      Type: Progressive Relapsing MS

I was one of the "lucky" ones (not) that spend nearly 10 years getting Dx'd . The exacerbation that ended my paramedic career was also the one that sealed the Dx. Some days are pretty good... some days just really sux and the rest are in between, but I'm not telling any of you folks anything new there huh?

      Treatments

      Baclofen Somewhat Helpful
Too much fatigue with it. No longer on it.
      Copaxone Working / Worked
Who knows what it is doing. Pain in the butt when it comes to daily injections. Word to the wise... don't use the auto injector if you don't Copaxone Reaction.
      Neurontin Not Working
Didn't work, made me feel worse.
      Provigil Working / Worked
Worked fairly well at first but became less and less effective as time went on in spite of adjusting the dose up to the max.
      Solumedrol Working / Worked
Had some improvement with the last round, but no "big fix" by any means. Regimen was 4g total IV... 1g/day for 3 days the 500mg/day for last two days. No "roid rage" but towards the end I was getting very short tempered and bitchy. Also if I looked at food I got heartburn.
      Symmetrel Working / Worked
Would actually take this again (making mental note to remind doc). Did get some energy improvement, but best of all, I don't recall having cold any of the time I was on it! What a bonus!!
      Zanaflex Working / Worked
Helps persistent spasms as well as has some effect on myoclonus. Very minimal side effects if any.
      Clonazepam Working / Worked
The only thing my doc and I have found that helps with spasms, myoclonus and most importantly... burning/tingling parathesias.
      Prozac Working / Worked
Prozac is the trade name. Helps with the general anxiety/depression and my experience with it, is it is like taking a drink of water. Zero side effects.
    • Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

7 days post DVT dx and just out of hospital.

      Treatments

      Coumadin Working / Worked
      Lovenox Working / Worked
