I am 25 years old, diagnosed with U.C. my Senior year in H.S. I'm really into weight lifting and mixed martial arts - both hobbies hard to pursue with U.C. My biggest fear is having to wear a bag in the future and not being able continue my hobbies. Really disillusioned with doctors, medications, and outrageous healthcare costs. I'm pretty shy, but very friendly. If you want to know more just ask.

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I have Ulcerative Colitis. It sucks.
Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- Didn't have a noticeable effect.
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- Coffee and tea can set me off. Soda and chocolate may also have the same effect.
- Azathioprine Somewhat Helpful
- This is my maintenance drug. Doesn't seem to work really well, but I don't know if I would be worse without it.
- Colazal Not Working
- Didn't have a noticeable effect.
- Entocort Not Working
- Didn't have a noticeable effect.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- yes, it works, but the side effects are bad and I required huge doses.
- Remicade Working / Worked
- This worked unbelievably well the first time, then slowly lost effectiveness. By the fourth time it was just a ridiculously expensive placebo.
