I love to travel, especially to exotic places. I love to garden and have been trying to create a tropical paradise in my yard. I play ice hockey and also like to row. I like to read and do crossword puzzles. I love white wine and cocktails. I am quiet and an introvert.

Hi Deanna,
I havenot been very good about checking my messages so I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I would like to be your friend and am looking forward to hear from you. How are you doing? Have you started any medication yet?
I found that when I first started meds I was able to be pretty much "normal". I mean I was able to do everything I used to, ski, kayak, play with the grandkids.
I have always been an outdoor person even though I am 68 years old! But during the past year or so, the meds have begun to shut down much sooner than I would like. They should last 3-4 hours at least. Fortunately I have a new doctor and he started me on a new med regamine every 4 hours around the clock! (I should say 'clocks' as I use 3 alarms to get me up so I can take my pill(s). I do it so I can have some semblance of a normal life.
I am looking forward to hearing about you and how you're doing. Are you working? I've been retired now for 6 years. The first 2-3 years I did substuting at the school where I worked and others nearby. I can't do that any more because it is just too stressful now and I am not able to do the job!
Well, I hope things are going well for you. Your picture looks like you are a "young" PD. Stay well and think positive!

Thank you for your support DeannaK. I'm usually very upbeat and positive- just a slip!
I've had Parkinson's for over 14 years and I'll really am doing well. My husband and I choose the RV lifestyle in order to some volunteer work during our retirement years and we have not regretted our choice. I'm still fairly independent -- except when my meds aren't working. The 5th wheel is a great size for me as far as housework etc. but my poor husband probably wishes he had escape room. i hope we can talk again- luv norma
Hi DeannaK....I am a fairly newly diagnosed Parker's from Kelowna and thought I would send a hug
