    • Close Depression
      Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

      Treatments

      Celexa Not Working
      Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Somewhat Helpful
Exposure to CBT primarily in teen years. Didn't help much at the time, but could hold promise now that I'm not a puppet for my hormones.
      Cymbalta Not Working
      Desipramine Not Working
      Effexor Not Working
      Elavil Not Working
      Electroconvulsive therapy Considering
Would love to give it a try. Been treatment resistant to most everything else. Gotta figure out a way to get medicaid to foot the bill.
      Lexapro Not Working
      Paxil Not Working
      Positive Thinking Considering
Been considering Good Attitude and Happy Thoughts, but I'm skeptical of their use in treatment of Major Depression. Side effects are also worrysome.
      Prozac Not Working
      Psychotherapy Not Working
      Trazodone Not Working
      Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
Made me too edgy first time around. Retry 14yrs later with SR formulation, worked for 5-6months. Probable development of tolerance (should have predicted with a substituted phenethylamine). Took couple months off, trying again. Perhaps will increase dosage.
      Zoloft Not Working
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Somewhat Helpful
May have helped with acute situations. Skeptical but willing...

      Treatments

      Acupuncture Not Working
      Cyclobenzaprine Somewhat Helpful
      helps, but makes me crazy.
      Cymbalta Not Working
      Lyrica Working / Worked
      Neurontin Not Working
      Zanaflex Somewhat Helpful
      Dexedrine Working / Worked
very effective. was prescribed for adult ADD but very effective for pain. Statistically it specs out near morphine for analgesic efficacy.
      Methadone Working / Worked
Been using for 6 years as a combination heroin detoxpain management. started on the heroin for pain. had supply of known purity . Clinically methadone according to pain specialists I know anecdotally is more effective for neuralgic pain than the other opiates. Plus the long halflife makes dosing a little easier and a little easier to avoid slipping and starting to use irresponsibly
    • Open Heroin Addiction & Recovery

I.V. drug addict for 15 years. Methamphetamine & heroin. Started the heroin about 5 years in, so was a heroin addict for 10 years. Started methadone 6 years ago. Been clean of other opiates for the last 4 years of it.

      Treatments

      Group Therapy Working / Worked
Group therapy 2xwk PRN. at methadone clinic since beginning methadone treatment. Very helpful adjunct. and Im not a group therapy kind of person but in retrospect its been helpful
      Methadone Working / Worked
6 years methadone treatment. 4 years of that clean other than the methadone. Been weaning off methadone for about a year dont know how much longer. Legit severe physical pain issues handicapped complicating situation.
      Suboxone Not Working
Tried Buprenex injection protocol 3x's attempting to kick, but to no avail. Buprenex alone (w/out the naloxone) was used clinically back then only as way to take the edge off withdrawal, not as the more rounded treatment protocol it is now. Didn't work for withdrawal relief, possibly because heroin dosage was too high compared to buprenex dosage.
      Clonidine Working / Worked
very useful when kicking semicold turkey i.e. no long term pharmaceutical intervention. Significantly takes the edge off of the first few and most intense days of withdrawal.
