    • Close Bipolar Disorder

Haven't been "officially" diagnosed with this yet. (My med ins kicks in Jan 1st...) From everything I read and talking to those suffering from this, I believe that I have Bipolar II with hypomania.

      Treatments

Group Therapy Too Soon to Tell
Just joined a group. I think it will help but it is really too soon to tell. Also joined some online groups on this site.
      Trileptal Somewhat Helpful
Don't know if this is helping or not. I take a very small dosage for nocturnal seizures of unknown origin.
    • Close Breakups & Divorce

Husband says he cannot take my health problems (which result in a lack of doing housework, etc.) anymore. Tells me this after 18 years of marriage. We are soulmates and have always talked of being together forever. I feel really let down and confused. I told him that we agreed to "in sickness and in health". He's giving me "a little while to work on my depression" since I will finally have med ins effective 01/2009.

      Forgiveness Somewhat Helpful
I can forgive him for his shortcomings, but he doesn't seem to be able to forgive me for my medical conditions and their effects.

    • Open Depression
      Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

I have been diagnosed with depression, but by my GP. I think it may actually be Bipolar with hypomania. My med ins is going into effect Jan 1st, so I hope to pursue a better diagnosis or at least a seconf opinion. I have been plagued by depression for 10+ years and it is about to drive my husband of 18 years away. He has given me a bit more time to get it under control. Cross your fingers for me!

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
Worked good at first on my mood, but not my energy level. It stopped helping much when I went into a big low that I have been in for the last year. Doubled dosage is having little effect.

I have been experiencing chronic pain since high school (that I can remember!).

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
This helps decrease some of my pain, but it comes back too quickly for me to see sustained benefits.
      Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
Don't know that this is really helping with my pain. It does help with my depression though.
      Flexeril Somewhat Helpful
Taken before bed, it keeps my neck and jaw from locking up over night and causing a migraine or headache the next day.

Wore a "splint" thingy when I was younger but it never helped. I have tension head and neck aches almost daily now. Probably due to TMJ and my other conditions combined.

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
This does help a lot but doesnt cure it. If my neck is out of adjustment I grindclench like crazy.
      Mouthguard Working / Worked
Wear at night. Saves my teeth, but they don't last long and don't help stop the grinding/clenching. Still have problems with the grinding/clenching during the day.
    • Open Tooth Grinding

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
If my neck is out of alignment I grind and clench like crazy. Not a total cure but helps a lot.
      Mouthguard Working / Worked
Wear at night. Protects teeth, but the guards wear out quickly. Also, still have problems with grinding/clenching during the day (mostly clenching during day).

I think my tinnitus results from my TMJ. Some times are worse than others, but I don't know why.

      Lipo-Flavanoid Considering
Bought some, but I am horrible at making myself take meds due to my other probs.
    • Open Time Management

I am a horrible procrastinator. I believe part of it comes from being depressed for the last 15+ years though. Because of my depression and anxiety disorder, I have a distorted perception of the passage of time which definitely helps spur on my procrastination and time management problems!!!

    • Open Short Stature

I am 5' 0" and I'm sure that will go down as I get older. People always comment on my height and some tease me about it. It is hard to find clothes that fit correctly - even the petite size don't sometimes. I always tell myself that "being short is distinguishing". PC term = vertically challenged.

    • Open Anxiety

Have had generalized anxiety disorder for 15+ years with panic attacks every now and then. I haven't had a panic attack for a good while though. I used to have them frequently and even would wake myself up several times a night having one!

      Type: Thalessemia Minor

I was diagnosed with Thalessemia minor when I was in jr. high. As an adult, I had this verified by a blood specialist. (He also found that I have Gilbert's Syndrome, another supposedly symptom-free disease.) My GP found that I was low on iron about 2 yrs ago, but I wasn't sure if it was just my Thal. making them think that. Then I lost ins and had to wait. My new med ins goes into effect the 1st of '09 so I am going to work on getting all my many conditions straight then. Ugh.
