Hey, that's what I tell Kevin when he starts up about his son vs. my children... we show by example - and I don't see YOU killing yourself for him, why should I??? My kids come first, always will. Deal with it...
One of my daughters was 17 when she got hers also..She was not in a hurry, so it was fine with me..I had been through enough teen drivers..I still have one more to go...Lawd help me..LOL I am doing great..feel calm inside most of the time....Good luck with the house...
I'm so happy that they stuck by you - they are, most definitely, remarkable, as is their mother. How many young girls do you know NOW that would give up their private school, camps, in order to accommodate step-siblings and not be resentful to the mother that caused it all by marrying the "evil" step father? My kids are grown, and we wrestle a bit about the man that I am living with. My daughter sees him most often and has pretty much accepted him, my son sees him infrequently and you can almost see his chest puff out when he comes in the house and has to interact with Kevin.
Been separated over 4 years. Recently regained possession of home.
I have been an Al-anon member for 23 years and recovering from codependency pretty much my whole life.
