Close Diverticulitis
I was diagnosed with a cat scan and sigmoidoscopy. I had been sick from diver at least 8 years before. Never knew what was wrong. Then had an acute attack and in 2000, decided to have the cat scan and Signoidoscopy. Since then I have learned how to eat better. High fiber, avoiding nuts, popcorn, stringy, tough, sharp veggies have to be cut up little and chewed well. I lapse and eat popcorn, and I get an acute attack. I am 60 and wondering about surgery. I get 3 acute attacks yearly.
Treatments
- Cipro Working / Worked
- It worked twice, but I do not believe in using antibiotics on a regular basis.
- High Fiber Diet Working / Worked
- Yes, it works if I am careful to avoid nuts, seeds and popcorn. And stringy woody vegetables have to be cut up into little pieces. I cannot swallow any big hunk of anything that can scratch the colon.
