Close Lupus
I was diagnosed with SLE in fall 06, my first year of college. In fall 08, I was diagnosed with stage 4/5 lupus nephritis, and am currently undergoing treatment.
Treatments
- Azathioprine Somewhat Helpful
- It worked, but as the disease progressed, I had to switch to stronger medication.
- Cellcept Too Soon to Tell
- Cyclophosphamide Too Soon to Tell
- A little nausea, hives, not to mention the ridiculously compromised immune system
- Medrol Working / Worked
- It works. I've taken it twice during major flares.
- Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
- i took it when I was misdiagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It wasn't strong enough for my stage of lupus.
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- I've been using it for a about a year but recently stopped after the nephritis diagnosis because of the cytoxan treatments.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I hate it! Weight gain, depression...but it works great. I started with 20mg and was weaned off within a year or so. I'm now back on 60mg and not excited
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Works, but I hate the side effects, currently on 60mg
- Enalapril Working / Worked
- 5mg
- Cytoxan Too Soon to Tell
- nausea, hives, general weakness
- Nexium Working / Worked
