    • About Me

I have CPPMS (Chronic Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis) in the last-stage; complicated by LHERMITTES Syndrome, and Idiopathic Anaphylaxis that is non-responsive to Epinephrine; along with a potentially fatal sensitivity to Epi and Copaxone (MS drug). It often takes me more time, effort, and energy to do everything, including simple things, which can be very stressful and seem a bit overwhelming at times. I am also a cancer survivor. I fought the cancer, and won! And now find myself fighting MS much the same way. The key is to NOT give up! I know there is HOPE!

    • Interests

I like variety in my life. I like things that stimulate the mind and enhance my creativity, that are both challenging and fun; embracing new ideas with open-minded people, hours of stimulating conversation with a mutual friend, breaking bread and dancing with people from different cultures and countries. It's good to stretch my comfort zone every now and then. I want to develop healthy new friendships and a strong support system.

JUST READ YOUR PROFILE..LOST MY MOM TO CANCER DEC 2007.... I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU 1 Peter 1:6-7, "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Primary Progressive MS

I have CPPMS in the last stage, have fought MS for over 20 years and am now beginning to win the fight, but not before succumbing to MS due to a drug called Copaxone. Thankfully I am alive today to talk about it! I would like to share experiences, strength and hope; make some healthy new friendships, and build a strong support system

      Treatments

      Avonex Not Working
Very bad for me! It caused Influenza bad enough to be hospitalized, and my brain rejected the needle, not allowing it to be inserted!
      Copaxone Not Working
Copaxone caused me to develop a potentially fatal allergic reaction to it, which later caused me to succumb. (I was brought back to life but now cannot take anything). Also because of the Copaxone, I had to have extremely large doses of Epinephrine (due to the allergy to Copaxone), which later caused my body to build up an immunity, and potentially fatal allergy to Epi. (I also succumbed to Epinephrine one time).
      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
PT helped me to learn to walk without falling, in spite of an extreme case of Drop Foot Inverted. It also helped to train my brain to command my feet and legs to respond more appropriately, while helping me to regain some muscle tone and build up my strength and stamina.
      Prednisone Working / Worked
Prednisone did help when symptoms were so extreme or prolonged causing me to be hospitalized. The bad side effect for me was the weight gain (by more than 40 pounds).
      Provigil Working / Worked
Provigil worked well, however, DSHS will not pay for it, and I can not afford it.
      Solumedrol Working / Worked
Solumedrol did help when symptoms were so extreme or prolonged causing me to be hospitalized. I later developed an adverse reaction/allergy/sensitivity to the drug which prevented it from working further.
      Swimming Working / Worked
Swimming does help a lot, but I can not afford a YMCA Membership and have no one to go with me to help me.
      Zanaflex Working / Worked
Zanaflex did work, but I can't remember what the side effects were (if any) or why I no longer take it(?)
    • Close Multiple Personalities

I am here for strength and support, encouragement and hope, understanding and an exchange of ideas; both to give and to reciprocate.
