About Me
I am a married woman with two wonderful children. I have the most supportive husband in the world. We have been married for 22 years. I'm looking to speak with others about their recovery of spinal fusion surgery and three weeks after my surgery I had a massive heart attack and I have a stent. I also have dergentive disk disease, spinal stenonis, spondylolysis, spinal bifida occulta burtsis in the hip where they took the bone graph and artritis.

Thank you, I'm 44 now. Only 6 yrs until 50- that's the one I'm dreading, I didnt mind turning 30 or 40 but 50 I do!! Oh well, you're only as old as you feel. Lots of hugs, Bonnie

Close Back Pain
I've had 2 failed spianl surgeries. The 1st on S-1 - L-2 10/04. The 2nd one 10/08 L-4 - L-5 Live in chronic pain 24/7. Had a heart attack after the 2nd fusion. So very tried of being in chornic pain.
Treatments
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- Work ed great for the burtsis in my hip and ease up the pain in my back just a bit.
- Bedrest Working / Worked
- When it starts hurting where I can't stand it anymore ( which is often) I lay flat for a while. Helps a little bit. Not much.
- Carisoprodol Working / Worked
- Takes the edge off.
- Cortisone (Injection) Working / Worked
- Not at all!!!!!! Have had to many of them and will not ever do it again.
- Epidural Injection Working / Worked
- Not at all. This will leave scare tissue too.Will never do again.
- Fentanyl Not Working
- Tried the patch and it did not help.
- Flexeril Working / Worked
- Did't work for me.
- Heat Working / Worked
- Fells good. Does not take the pain away.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Takes the edge off.
- Ibuprofen Working / Worked
- Not at all.
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- Not at all.
- Pets Somewhat Helpful
- Just having my dogs around me all the time when I get lonely durning the day when I by myself. They can tell when I'm in alot of pain. I LOVE my dogs.
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- I did alot of PT. Did not releif any pain. Still doing it at home. Just hoping that it might help.
- Relaxation Working / Worked
- Helps the mind but not the pain.
- Stretching Working / Worked
- I have to strech in the morning. Does not help the pain but makes it a little loose.
- TENS Working / Worked
- Helps a little while you are doing it. Does not take pain away.

Open Heart Attack
I had my 2nd spinal surgery Oct 22 08 and had a massive heart attack two weeks after my surgery.
Treatments
- Aspirin Too Soon to Tell
- Don't know yet.
- Coreg Too Soon to Tell
- Still needs to up my dose. My heart not strong enough yet.
- Stents Too Soon to Tell
- I have one. No side affects.
- Pets Working / Worked
- I had a massive heart attack after my 2nd spinal fusions. Just having them there for company is great.

- Chantix Not Working
- Makes me sick as a dog. I've taking it for 2 weeks. I think I'll try cold turkey.
- Cold Turkey Too Soon to Tell
- This will be the next I try.
- Nicotine Gum Not Working
- Burned my mouth.
- Nicotine Patch Not Working
- Made me sick and left my arm kinda like a burn.
- Willpower Not Working
- Need to get some will power.
- Chantix Not Working
- Its making me sick as a dog. It has slowed me down.
Open Chronic Pain
I've had 2 spinal surgeries and after the last one I had a massive heart attack. I have suffered with chronic pain for 15 years.
Treatments
- Flexeril Not Working
- Did not work for me.
- Heat Working / Worked
- Just makes it feel a little better. But does not help w/ pain.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- I live on them. It just takes the edge off.
- Marijuana Working / Worked
- Yes I have even tried this. This does help with being able to let go of stress and help me eat.
- Nerve Blocks Not Working
- Only made it worse.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- I'm still taking this. It only helped w/ the nerve damage that was caused by the surgery.
- Oxycodone Somewhat Helpful
- I took OxyContin right after my surgery. It made me sick to my stomach.
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- All this taught me was how to bend and pick up things.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- This to me just takes your mind off while it is zapping you. Sometimes it will relax my back.
Open Pet Bereavement
My beautiful dog bingo died Mar 08. He was 15.I miss him so much and think of him daily. My cat Cegee died 3-06 she was 23. She was my baby and friend. I had that cat before I married my husband. We have been married 22 years 2-14. she would have been 25 this year. Peach
