I'm a sitting duck but in order to feel better psychologically, I am taking many supplements and eating very well. I am hoping antioxidants, green tea, etc etc will keep the cancer away. What else can we do?

You are going to get through this and go back to remission, I just know it. I do know how chemo makes a person feel, but remember, it is temporary. You can and you will get over the hump!

Hope you feel minimal side effect,
    Hugs,
    MaryAnn

  • Little Love

    Dear Janet
Just sending some extra love your way for being my special friend and trying to keep me sane. Have a great week!
    xxLinda

  • Congrats

    Lindaheff (10/05/09)

    Dear Janet
I`m sending you lots of congratulations for your terrific CA level of 16. I`m jealous due to the fact that I`ve just gone up from 18 to 20 after 14 months of straight chemo :( You mentioned that you, too, have family longevity. My mother is 93, her sister is 97 and my dad passed away at 92. I wonder if I`ll even make it to the mid 60s with the way my body responds to chemo. Have a restful week!
    xxLinda

  • Ray of Sunshine

    Lindaheff (10/04/09)

    Dear Janet
I`m sending some sunshine because our weekend weather has been a bit dismal. Thanks for your congrats on my grandbaby to be, unfortunatel I have 7 more months to worry about everything imaginable that can go wrong :(
I think that it`s terrific that you`re traveling in November, despite chemo. I believe that we have to live for the day and attempt to grab as much out of life that we possibly can...How are you presently feeling after Friday`s chemo? Hope all is well juggling IU and your chemo effects. Lots of love,
    xxLinda

Janet--the first three days are a bit rough, but remember the fourth and fifth bring clear skies and a sense of normalcy . I kept a journal during this time which helped in many ways. love you, hang-in! r&s

    Dear Janet
I meant to mention the blessed event with you, but got caught up in my complaining... My daughter is due the first week of May, which will be my first grandchild. We still have 7 months to go, but so far all is fine. I`m happy to hear that chemo was quicker this time for you, did they make you get a flu shot? I had no choice because they gave it to me during chemo :( Have a great weekend and don`t worry about low red blood counts, obviously your body seems to be adapting. Lots of love,
    xxLinda

    Dear Janet
Thanks for your moment of peace, which I probably need.I know that I shouldn`t be concerned when there are small CA125 changes, however the Avastin is the only drug that`s ever worked for me...The thought of becoming resistant to it terrifies me. I guess I`ll have to wait for the next few readings before they decide if the trend is increasing. Good luck tomorrow and thanks for being my special friend. Lots of love,as always.
    xxLinda

  • Good Luck

    Lindaheff (09/30/09)

    Dear Janet
I slept 7 hours last night and feel like a different person today:)
I just got my CA125 levels which went from 18 to 20, which was a big disappointment. I assume that they should be going down, especially with all the chemo I`ve received in the past 14 months. I guess that`s why they consider me "high risk". I`m sending lots of luck that your blood is full of iron for this week`s treatment.
    xxLinda

  • I'm With You

    Lindaheff (09/28/09)

    Dear Janet
I just returned from my 11 hr day which wasn`t as bad as I thought.I forewarned my chemo nurse to look at my past visits to find a chemo nurse who had the ability to access a vein without violating the "3 stick rule". However, she couldn`t find one and did it herself in, the underside of my left arm, a place that has never been used before. Already I`m feeling the effects of nausea that are only remedied by keeping my stomach full, go figure...I already have an email into the oncologist`s office to call me tomorrow with the CA 125 levels. I`ll have 2 sleepless nights and should be relatively okay on Wednesday.Hope you have a great week.
    xxLinda
