I write copy for an advertising agency. I have Major Depression, Anxiety Disorder and prostate cancer. I wri advertising from my home or office. I am 47, divorced with no kids. The woman I lived with and loved died of breast cancer not too long ago. Many times, I feel very lonely...I have a hard time talking about myself. Being open with others is difficult for me. It is my belief that by living each day to the fullest I stay healthy and focused. I also believe that love and affection is part of being human. I stay in shape by playing golf, raquetball, league softball and basketball.

I'm pulling for you.
Good luck with your working out goal! I'm trying to get to the gym four days a week. I feel better after exercise too, even when I don't feel like dragging myself to the gym.
Hey Jack, happy to be your friend. I've had the anxiety and depression since I was 15, now 38yrs old and surviving along with Crohn's disease. Life certainly has its challenges. I'm finding great support here on DS, I hope you do too. I'm in Australia so because of our time differences my replies to folks in the US look like they're coming in late :-) I try to catch up on here every couple of days. Hope you're having a good day today. *hugs*
Hi Jack..thanks for asking to be my friend..Here's a hug for you...we all need as many as we can get! Don't you agree? Life can be difficult ans sad...Best wishes, Diana
I have had recurrent depression and anxiety didorder (GAD) since my early 20's. I am 47, working and taking meds now. I see a pdoc once a month who mainly e-fills my prescriptions. I tend to isolate if I don't stay active. I am doing ok, but sometimes still have bouts of depression and anxiety. I have been on a lot of different meds and have been hospitalized many times. I try to lead a useful life that has meaning and purpose
