Diagnosed November 2008 For the past two years at least I have had a bunch of crazy symptoms that have changed my incredibly active lifestyle to an extremely limited lifestyle with little help from numerous doctors. Finally after I saw a TV show I went to the Chiari Institute where I am being treated now. They have started me on medications that are managing alot of my symptoms related to the CSF blockage and I am going throughh testing and looking at surgical options. It has been a crazy time for my family and a difficult time at work. I ma glad to have found this support group and hope to make connections that will help me deal with this new burden and keep from piling too much pressure on my family who has been wonderful.

Interests
Outdoor activites and fitness which I look forward to being able to participate in again as soon as possible. Long drives and long summer days at the beach and amusement parks and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to finishing nursing school as soon as possible as well.

I have been suffering from chronic pain for many years. Migraines since childhood, RSD in recent years and crazy symptoms tath doctors just kept medicating but recently I found the chiari institute and was finally properly diagnosed with chiari malformation.

I have a chiari malformation and hydrocephalus.

- Diamox provides definite relief, at least I can somewhat function now, but I still get terrible "episodes" from the hydrocephalus.
Open Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
I have RSD in my right hand. I am one of the fortunate people - my RSD is in remission at the moment but it has flared up a few times since the original diagnosis. So far, stellate D in remission for long periods of time.
