Close Back Pain
When I was 19 had laminectomy at L1-L3 to remove neurofibroma. Left with bulged disks. Was fine until 28. At 29 had spinal fusion L4-L5 level. Had lots of relief but still have a lot of pain. Right now managing with meds. Fiance also has back troubles with less success.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
- only worked for short while. Not able to do much since previous surgery.
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- had 2 shots. not helped at all. gained 40+ pounds.
- Heat Working / Worked
- heat has been a major help. it doesn't take pain completely away but it does lessen it. thermacare heat wraps are a godsend!!
- Morphine Working / Worked
- worked for a while. ms contin-allergic reaction (itchy and severely spaced out). kadian could not stay awake and upset stomach. avinza worked but docs not want to have me on because of allergic reaction to ms contin
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- worked for a while. at one point felt like would help more if i could go everyday.
- TENS Working / Worked
- it worked for a while, but got to the point that it only helped for a short while or only while it was on.
Close Chronic Pain
30yrs old 2 back surgeries '96 lumbar laminectomy and '05 spinal fusion. recently diagnosed with failed back fusion and degenerative disc disease.
Treatments
- Heat Working / Worked
- Lidoderm Not Working
- no help at all.
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- to a certian point
- TENS Working / Worked
Open Insomnia
suffer from chronic pain and shift work. have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep.
Treatments
- Counting Sheep Not Working
- Reading Somewhat Helpful
- only works to a certain point
- Restoril Not Working
- Rozerem Working / Worked
- only taken for a few days so far. seems to help for now. sort of seems to make me tired the next day.
Open Degenerative Disc Disease
have had back trouble since i was 19. almost 31 now. had laminectomy to remove ball of nerves, left with bulged disk. recently had fusion still having trouble. different docs say ddd others say failed back surgery syndrome.
