I have MANY back problems too...I find sleeping on my stomach aggravates my problems...have you tried on your side with one leg ,the upper one, bent up(slightly on your stomach, but only slightly?) When you have the problems we have , there is no ideal position, but some I find are better than others I've tried at least. If you can stretch your body when you wake while in bed..that can help too a bit with the spasms and stiffness I've found?I so understand..I have terrible pain most always. I take gabapentin, ibuprofen, tramodol, tylenol with codiene.
