About Me
Two years ago, I was an active, happy, and healthy college freshman. Just before the start of 2008, I began to experience extreme anxiety. I tried 7 different medications and saw several doctors, but nothing helped. Just before summer of 2008, I began to experience numbness and tingling in my hands, feet, and face. This lead to joint pain, which spiraled into pain and weakness throughout my whole body. I had to leave school, was bed-ridden, and truly believed I was going to die. It took two different hospitals and 11 different doctors to finally get a diagnosis of Lyme. To this day, I am still angry that it took so many doctors until I found help. I was told that it was all in my head, that I needed to see a psychiatrist, and that my symptoms were not real. I was diagnosed with everything from generalized anxiety to fibromyalgia. Now, I am finally on the right track. I have been on antibiotics for almost 3 months, and I am not 100%, but feeling so much better than I was. I am so glad my year -and-a-half-long strruggle with this disease is finally coming to a close.

Close Lyme Disease
Two years ago, I was an extremely active and healthy college student. However, towards the end of 2007, I began to experience severe anxiety that no medications could help. In the summer of 2008, I began to experience numbness and tingling in my hands and feet. During September of 2008, my health quick deteriorated. I had to take a medical leave from college because my body was in so much pain that I became bed-ridden. Finally, after two hospitals and 11 doctors, I was diagnosed with Lyme.
Treatments
- Doxycycline Somewhat Helpful
- This did help at first especially with physical symptoms. However it was not very helpful with my neurological symptoms.
