73 year old who had heavy agent orange exposure in vietnam. I have had radiation for prostate cancer and vocal cord cancer, both caused from exposure to this poison. I am cancer free after 8 years from prostate cancer, and 1 year 4 months from the larynx cancer.

He swam in. Would leave the carrier by rubber boat, go overboard and swim into their piers and place explosive charges and get the hell out. Back before they called them the seals, I think he said it was called underwater demolition teams. He does not like to talk about it much though. It came out during some counselling we had years ago, but I know he is proud of his service. We were thankful my husbands tumors were small and he didn't need a more intensive or invasive treatemnt...direct radiation was bad enough for him. Only good to come from the experience is I doubt he will ever blow off his check ups again. I had to nag the crud out of him just to go get the blood draws, no matter how much his dr stressed to him about it...probably would not have changed anything just maybe found it a little earlier. Don't balme him though, not really fond of drs visits myself.

Oh, and this dumb fuck told this son that he was a power ranger in the war.....he shit himself if the wind blew the wrong way. The child thinks his dad is a hero now........should I tell this boy his father is an asshole or let this asshole shine as a parent that deserted his boy?

my ex was exposed to agent orange and we produced a 'challenged one'..........too bad it didn't render him sterile!

Close Head and Neck cancers
I am a 73 year old male who had heavy exposure to agent orange in Vietnam. This has caused prostate cancer (cancer free after 8 years), and cancer of the larynx, cancer free for 1 year 4 months. I have been having terrible cramps on the left side of my throat when I yawn. Other than that I have the standard complaints from massive radiation doses.
Treatments
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- Both of my treatments have worked so far (crossed fingers). I have had extensive side effects from both treatments, but have learned, or am learning, to live with them. I have suffered more from post radiation problems from the larynx radiation than the prostate. i.e., heavy mucosa, dry mouth, gagging, and these cramps. I have decided these will be with me the rest of my life, so I have decided to live with them and thank the Lord for my life. I intend to enjoy it to the best of my ability.
Close Prostate Cancer
I had heavy exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. I had radiation treatment 8 years ago and so far am still cancer free. I have studied this disease and all of the treatments for 8 years, and feel I can give sound advice to anyone who is getting ready to be treated for this cancer. Agent Orange has given me two cancers, Prostate and larynx and so far am cancer free after treatment.
Treatments
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- I had 6 weeks of conformal beam radiation preceded by radioactive seed implants. I have been cancer free for 8 years. I have had the usual side effects from this type of treatment and will be glad to discuss them with anyone.
