GREAT NEWS Mood
Sunday, January 18, 2009 | A Happy story
I had great news at the doc on Thursday.  All my blood counts are normal!  WHAOOO.
I don't have to go back to the doc for 2 months and I don't need a blood test for 2-months.  The main thing they need to watch is the Gleevec can make me anemic.  I will continue to stay on the 400 mg dosage and the doctor told me that I may never have that changed.  That surprised me....may need to seek a 2nd opinion regarding that.   I won't need a bone marrow test until November.  By that time I'll be on the Gleevec a year and hopefully the marrow will be clear of the bad chromosone's.  Of course that's the other phase of remission....blood first, bone marrow second, but I'm going to try and stay optimistic that the marrow will be clear.  The doctor was very happy with the results and said I can't ask for anything more at this point.  It's only 2-months on the Gleevec, so I guess he is right.   I was estatic.  I'm feeling great and back to normal, so that's a good thing.   God certainly has been good to me!
