About Me
Christian, wife of 29 yrs, mom of 2 (27 YWAMER & 21 Son) and Sammie's Grammie! :-) I had a MTBI (which one doc calls and the other calls Post Concussive Disorder. Are they the same?) in 2006. I have headaches daily and migraines with barometric changes and stress. I'm struggling through the worker's comp and trying to figure out how to live with ST memory loss, balance (fall to the right), migraines, loss of math and music skills, and weak right side. I take skelaxtin for neck pain, Midrin for migraines, Lexapro for daily headaches, and Ibruprophen when mucles and joints ache. I'm suppose to take them daily, but hate the side-effects so mostly just take them when it gets really bad. Docs are now suspecting epilepsy as well. I am blessed to work at my church coordinating Kids' Church for 8 hrs/week. :-) Gives me many reasons to smile. :-) I know it's a mercy job, but I really appreciate it. :-) I lost my business which was my home (B&B) due to head injury, currently declaring bankruptsy, and struggling in a 29 yr marriage due to all this, BUT, I'm really not whining! I am praising God that I had a trailer to move into, can walk and talk (like Mel Tillis ;-) ) again! And became a Gramma in July to a precious gift from God! I have so much to be thankful for. :-) I am also thankful for DS and the kindness and info that has been helping me cope through this time in my life. Isn't it great that we have a God who loves us and keeps us going and sends us others to encourage and who are encouraging? I think so! :-)

Thanksfor the prayers. It is hell on earth. Never knowing when the stabs will happen. Right now I have just a PCS headache. It will dissipate with rest. Funny thing is I woke not too long ago.

Close Epilepsy & Seizures
Hi! Due to a MTBI I just had my first sleep deprived EEG (2 yrs post accident) and had seisures. Not sure what that means. Also, Migranes have come back after being almost 20 yrs free! Trying to understand new life, but praise God that I'm walking and talking again! He is great! Blessings!

- Topamax Working / Worked
- It was given for migranes and I couldn't tolerate the side effects. I use Midrin or generic of.
Close Migraine Headaches
Hi! I currently take Midrin (and have for over 25 years) migraines. Nothing else works for me. I had migraines since the onset of puberty. They quit after I had a complete Hysterectomy, but came back after a MTBI. I have a question? My doc doesn't believe me that weather (barometer) changes are a major trigger. Anyone else experience this? blessings to all! Lynda :-)

- Caffeine Somewhat Helpful
- Imitrex Not Working
- Had a bad experience. Heart raced and I felt like I was having a heart attack. not worth the side effects.
- Midrin Working / Worked
- Only thing that has worked for me for over 25 years!
- Topamax Not Working
- Didn't like the side effects, but the doc is thinking about putting me on it again because I "might" be having seizures (esp at night). UGH!
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- These help sometimes.
Open Diabetes Type 2
I've been hypoglycemic since youth (lots & lots of years ago ;-) but now doc is suspecting diabetes after a MTBI. Who knows?

Can I join? PLEASEEEEE I am 5'2" in tennis shoes. I'm 48 and have been heavy most of my life. I would like to be around 135 by Christmas 2010. I'm currently 220 (or so, I'll find out at Docs tomorrow). I have migraines due to a MTBI and take lots of meds that make me loopy, sleepy, and exercise SCARY due to balance & coordination problems. I'm prob going to have to add an anti-seizure med to list shortly. :-( Am great support for others!

Godparent suspecting austism in our little angel since her birth. She is 17 months old now, and symptoms are getting more pronounced, just like her beautiful brown eyes are getting more gorgeous by the day. :-) We just got temp legal custody of her after traumatic situations.
