thanks Deb, not much lately. Just been stuck at home lately(no gas money!) but i had to get the fillings cuz i was headed for the root canal if i waited any longer, and that wouldve been much worse! how have you been doing?

its interesting, that when i had been having headaches that became daily a few years ago, along with waking up with them and the rest, i ran into a guy online who knew what my problem was when no doctors could even help. I had had sinus surgery and a bunch of other crap for a couple years, anyways, i was baffled, especially when the jaw probs started. I had mentioned to this guy that i thought i had jaw problems but i had this crazy headache deal too, waking every day! I told him i was looking into a splint, and he tells me" don't get a splint!, it will end up making your bite all messed up end down the line you'll get worse!" and then tells me, "get whatever, whoever, is stressing you out, out of your life! as soon as possible!" Needless to say, i didnt heed his advice and am now dependent on the NTI,but my bite is cool so far so. But i wonder if i would've listened right then and there , and just packed my bags and went someplace peaceful if I wouldve gotten better and saved myself months of misery...........pretty weird stuff!

    • Close TMJ

I have TMJ and I'm wearing a lower plate now, have done for 3 weeks. I grind my teeth and clench my jaw and its stress related. I am in alot of pain and quite depressed alot of the time.

      Treatments

      Mouthguard Working / Worked
So far the lower plate has worked abit but some days I get alot of pain and others its not too bad. I just want to know how long this is going to last for.
    • Close Anxiety

Hi, I've got TMJ and definitely I'm an anxious person and this contributes to it. I have practiced yoga for many years on and off and I think that worked for a while but now with the TMJ it all feels worse again. I am trying to relax and do alot of the time but whilst at work I live off nervous energy.

      Treatments

      Breathing Exercises Somewhat Helpful
Deep breathing, yoga breathing definitely helps.
      Hypnotherapy Somewhat Helpful
Not sure if the hypnosis worked but at the time I had it it felt wonderful, wish that feeling would stay with me all the time though
      Meditation Somewhat Helpful
I don't meditate for long enough but I think if I did it would help
    • Open Hypermobile Syndrome
