Yesterday morning we went back in to give it another go & everything went extremely well. The head nurse was there today & got my daughters vein on the first try! Oh Lord were we happy! This time the transfusion only took about 3 1/2 hours even though they gave her 2 units of blood. It's amazing to sit there & watch the color return to her, she starts "pinking up", as she gets the blood. We were out of there in time to catch the afternoon matinee of Johny Depps new movie which came out yesterday & she has been waiting impatiently for. Thought she deserved a treat. So all is well & we are keeping our fingers crossed that this transfusion will be the turning point for her.

Aw your such a good mom! I wanna see that movie too. Its good after something like a blood transfusion to try to have somewhat of a normal teenage life. I hope she starts feeling better soon!

Oh good Lord yes, I do hope and pray that she gets back to normal, poor kid.
Glad the head nurse was there, she is more experienced than most, so I'm glad she got the vein right, from the start.
So was the movie, Dillinger good? Can't wait to see it, different role for Johnny Depp that's for sure.
He's such a dool. lol
Keep us posted.

Lesa, I'm glad the two of you had a "good" day yesterday. Isn't it interesting how we end up finding the good even in a not-so-good situation. Having a blood transfusion is not on anyone's list of fun but it's much better than feeling lifeless. A Johnny Depp movie is always a good plan after having a transfusion. :)
