Hi Linda, I intended to write yesterday but I came home from work and literally fell right to sleep. I had a fairly busy work day and walked around campus quite a bit. Actually I had overslept in the morning so I didn't bring my lunch as usual and had to go to our campus center to buy lunch so that was part of why I walked around so much. In any case, it's nowhere as much as you walked on Monday. What a long time for an hour of treatment! But, I know it's worth it. I think you've gotten the cold weather that we've had. It's rainy and cold here and has been all week. Our leaves are turning quite nicely so if the sun ever comes out I think it will be beautiful around here. We will be driving to Chicago this weekend and I hope it will be a pretty drive. I hope you are feeling well. Much love, Janet

Hello Friend,
Hope this finds you doing as well as possible. You just had chemo so I am thinking you have a week off?
I see my Doc (probably for the last time) tomorrow and have a doxil infusion.
Will learn the results of my scan and blood-test. Always nerve-wracking, but such is life. My son came up today and we went to see my mother together. Mom never opened her eyes...but looked incredibly peaceful. Oh but life sure can throw challenges at us, can't it. I hope you don't mind, but tonight I shared with my husband the story of how your mother tells you that you are "making all this up to get attention!" Mac just couldn't believe that a Mother would say or do something so cruel. I told him how there seem to be several of us on this sight with similar "moms" and I wonder if all those years of ingesting mental pain led, at least in my case, to my getting sick. One never knows. I am quite stoic on the outside. How about you?
well, I just wanted to say "hi" and let you know I am thinking about you.
many, many hugs, lindamae -

Hi Linda, How are you doing? Did the Columbus Day activity delay you at all? I still think it's amazing all you have to go through to make it to chemo and back. What time are you making home on chemo days? I am okay the day after but the next two days I am barely able to do anything. My next chemo will be October 23. This weekend I should be feeling fairly good and we are driving up to Chicago to see the new baby. I haven't seen him yet. It's supposed to be even colder this weekend than it is now. I really hate the cold weather. I hope you sleep tonight. Much love, Janet

Hi,
I havn't been on the computer much lately. I am doing ok. The topotecan seems to not have too many side effects. I have noticed that I have some days of fatigue but I think that goes with any and all chemo meds. I went this a.m. for my CT scan, will get the results next week on Thursday.
How are you doing? I am so glad that I do not have to travel as far as you do.
I always think of you when I see that the weather in the northeast is bad and hopeing that its not affecting you too much. Hugs,Carol -

Thanks for the wonderful hug and the heads up on the Avastin. It is good to know that there is no sideeffects except the sneezing and runny nose. I will stock up on Klenex! LOL You are a wondrful person, so caring and nice. Yes I am sure that the tube will come out when the time is right. How are the results with Avastin? I wish you much luck and my prayers are with you! - Love and Hugs - Julie

Linda, thanks for the good luck hug on my CT scan. While it wasn't the news I was hoping for it wasn't all bad. I found out the tumor did shrink a tiny tiny bit, but not enough to get the nafrostomy bag out. But thye put a new one in because it was time and the stitch came out and I was unable to do things I wanted, like see Nicks game. But now I can function as normal!!!! I am now moving on to chemo, Avastin and a chemo pill a day. This is good news. If fact I should make that call right now. Good luck with your chemo. We are in this together. Hope you feel well with it. What chemo is it and how often. I go every 3 week. Good luck and God Bless You. Love and Hugs - Julie

Hello Linda. Hoping your day went good and your chemo went well. We had a very busy day at the office and didn't get home until after 8 this evening.. I have heel lifts in my shoes and they have been working wonders. I ran one day last week and had some pain after. I bought new shoes and the lifts and hopefully tomorrow will try them out. So far just in my work shoes they have helped alot. Sending you loads of chocolate......Yummy! Giant hugs to you also. Beth

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the sunshine! What an early start you must get to be in the city on time! With these cold mornings I find it very difficult to drag myself out of bed.
Just spoke with the hospice nurse and then had a bit of a crying jag. I hate to do this in front of Mac as he gets down too. I just wish that I could have "fun" again. Seems like all I do lately is panic and worry. Just wish I could magically appear on the other coast! If I could do that, however, I'd probably be able to rid the world of cancer! Well, time to go shopping...I am cooking dinner for friends tonight. Stuffed peppers from the garden.
hugs and hope you feel okay after chemo today!!! lindamae -

Hi Linda -
Thanks for asking how I am doing. I have an appt with Dr Spriggs on Oct 27th. My next chemo in Denver is the 19th - continue with Doxil and add Avastin.
I hope your chemo today goes smoothly and you don't suffer side effects (and most importantly that it works!). Chemo days are long.
Peace -

Hi and thank you for the sunshine.. I hope your day went smoothly and that this dose is gentle on you.. I am having my sixth (hopefully last) dose of doxil next Monday 19th.. I'm a bit concerned about still resprting to pain killers a couple of times a day, though they are only paracetamol.. Reading up about the procedure I had done I'm not surprised it is taking time to settle and I am thinking of asking my GP to arrange some sort of physiotherapy for me. It's not too bad but keeps me awake and is annoying when I am trying to sit comfortably to draw.. Slowly there is an improvement so thats good. How many more chemos do you have? Hugs xxx
