Thanks Linda. I read somewhere that you should imagine your husband bringing another women home, and saying I love you just the same but I love her too. But she is more needy than you and needs more attention. That is the way it must feel to him. I am sure it will pass. Frustrating in the meantime. Have a great day. Anita.

Gold Star
IUPUI (10/25/09)
Hi Linda, Here's a star to light your way in the morning. I am sending you good vibes (I hope) and many prayers in anticipation of a good report for you tomorrow. My red face seems to have gone away for now but I noticed it this morning. So far I'm doing well today - no leg pain yet. It's amazing how each cycle has its our set of differences. I'm still excited about the CA 125 result but my husband said he just expected good news. In any case, I am excited! Much love, Janet

Hi Linda, I barely slept last night and still feel somewhat energized. I have nothing planned for today so if I'm tired I'll just sleep. I also appear that I'm getting another side effect of taxol: redness in my face and neck area. My information sheet from the doctor lists this as a side effect to "call immediately" but I think that unless something scary happens, I'll just wait until Monday. My ear ringing has lessened somewhat but since I'm still getting carbo I'm a bit concerned that it will get worse. I'm glad to be going to the ENT on Tuesday.
Indiana is now on Eastern Daylight Time. It is now after 8:00 when the sun rises. So I am also looking forward to the end of EST. I actually wrote you a hug yesterday but it's not here so somehow it got lost. I did get good news on my CA 125 = it dropped 11 points to a 5. I always ask for a copy of my lab work and in the past the CA 125 wasn't back yet but yesterday it was on the sheet. I got so excited and showed it to my husband so he cold verify what I saw. It was almost unbelievable. My hemoglobin is still dropping but it is still in the 10s. Even though I'm being beaten up by these side effects the chemo is apparently doing the job. I am praying that you get good news about your CA 125 on Monday and that all else goes well, Much love, Janet -

I am so sorry I called you Lisa. That is my daughter's name. Must have had her on my mind.

Thanks Lisa. Christian is fine. The next day it was like nothing happened. The biggesst problem with him now is his jealousy about his little sister. Since she beacme moble (crawling) he has become so jealous of her. They disipline him, but he comes right back and does the same thing. Knocks her down when she pulls up on something or gives her a little kick as he goes by. Not really hurting her but shows his annoyance with her. My son and DIL are at there wits end. I remember my kids going through a similar thing but I hardly remember it, it is a big blur to me. Don't remember how I handled it. Right now at three you can't reason with him. They will get through it in time. In the meantime it is frustrating. Anyway, love and hugs to you, Anita

Hi Linda, Oh isn't the ear ringing so frustrating! Right now mine has lessened a little from earlier this week. I will certainly share what the doctor says. I know it is a very common problem not only for people in chemo but for all kinds of people. I've seen adds for herbal concoctions that are sold in pharmacies. I think my neurotin for neuropathy might be helping the the ears but it could just be my imagination. Again, there are so many little woes that come with such aggressive treatment but I do choose living with them as opposed to the alternative :) Enjoy your weekend. I believe I will be a "football widow" Saturday. My husband will be going to the Boston College - Notre Dame game. He really enjoys going but he hasn't had a chance to go this entire season. It will be very cool here tomorrow but the rain has just about ended. Hopefully, it will be gone before you have to travel on Monday. Again, have a great weekend, much love, Janet

Linda if I were there I would go with you. I am not selling very much as it is a difficult sell. I can see me getting burned out on this very quickly. We will see. It is cool here in Houston. I think in the 70's today and supposed to be a beautiful weekend. Take care. Love and hugs, Anita

Hi Linda, Thank you for the good wishes. I'm all set for chemo tomorrow but I don't know whether to be happy about it or not. I have developed some degree of peripheral neuropathy. They've started me on neurotin (sp ?) for it. I'm also developing some ringing in my ears. Sometimes it bothers me a lot and other times it's not so bad. They made an appointment for me with an ENT specialist next Tuesday. It is frustrating to have such a cascade of side effects; hopefully, there is some treatment for the ear issues. Apparently carboplatin can cause hearing problems. I also hope that additional chemo doesn't make it any worse. The ear ringing started about 12 days ago - not right after the last chemo. I've had ringing in my ears in the past before I ever got sick and it eventually stopped. The ENT will check if it is drug induced or from some other cause. They will also give me a hearing test.
My work is going fine. This cycle I've worked full days the past two weeks. However, I end up very tired in the evenings. I've not had much energy at night to do any running around to stores or the gym. I have had energy during the day - so that's been good. Last Tuesday was our 36th wedding anniversary and we did go out to eat and then last night there was a meeting of our local ovarian cancer group that I attended. Next week my work schedule is not very busy so I should be okay.
The temperature outside now is in the mid-sixties. It's cloudy and supposed to start raining later this afternoon and into tomorrow. Where I go for chemo has no windows so I won't be able to watch the dreary weather. Saturday is supposed to be a lot cooler. It is so much harder to get up and out when it's cold. I hope it will not be too cold for you on Monday. Have awonderful weekend - much love, Janet -

Hi Linda, I hope you have more energy this week. I was tired quite a bit last week, too. I think I slept more last week and with less difficulty than I have in months. We're back from Chicago. We had a wonderful trip seeing the new baby and our granddaughter and our son and daughter-in-law. Aermes (I'm still not used to that name) is such a sweet baby. He's smiling now and I just love it when babies start to smile. He looks very much like my own children. We think he will have blue eyes; Tulja, our granddaughter has dark brown eyes and blonde hair. We went out to brunch yesterday and he was very good the entire time.
I hope all is well there and that you had a good weekend. Much love, Janet
