Hi Linda, I just made it into work but I'm only at about 50%. I really don't feel well at all and may not stay long. I have my students doing tours and I have leaders for the tours so everything should be okay. I have almost no energy. I'm glad you are getting some rest finally, much love, Janet

    Hi Linda
I am really very happy to hear from you. I hope you have rested well now and somewhat recovered from chemo. I didn’t know short names for these medicines. You must be very happy since your CA125 is now in the normal range. What would be your Chemo schedule now? Once every three week?
It must be very hard for you to deal with the fact that corboplatinum and doxal did not work for you very much. How did you deal with it? I am very nervous and having quite rough time to deal with this recurrence. I am reading “chicken Soup” and listening to “Quantum healing “ from Deepak Chopra. It is very tough..
With lots of best wishes and warm regards,
    Seema

Hi Linda, Have you had any luck getting the Avastin covered by your insurance? I was told that the reason my insurance would not cover it is because it has not been approved by the FDA for ovarian cancer. Now I understand why people go untreated the best they can be. Thats why I had to turn it down and just get half the treatment my Dr. wanted for me. I also am getting the steriods with my treatment and have a hard time sleeping the first couple nights afterwards. I hope you can find something to help you sleep.
Has the weather cooled off there yet? I would love to see the fall leaves there in a few weeks.

I am very happy that Avastin/Gemzar is working for you. Hopefully insurance will work with you on this.
I am going to get carboplatin /gemcitabine with possibility of getting Bevacizumab, which has been found to be beneficial (and approved by FDA) in treatment of Colon, Lung and Breast cancer. 6 to 9 treatments...

Wow !!! I cannot believe this. We see same Dr. How cool !!! We really love Dr. Konner he is such a wonderful doctor. In fact initially I was getting treatment somewhere else and came to see Dr Konner as a second opinion. We were very impressed with him so just decided to stay with him. Certainly we can meet sometime in NYC or other place. Good luck with your treatment. We both are in very good hands. Just have to believe that we will be alright. With best wishes ..Seema

  • Moment of Peace

    IUPUI (09/13/09)

Hi Linda, Do you have any sleep aids that could give you help with sleeping? I have Ativan and Restoril. Restoril is more potent but just knowing I have these things even though I don't always take them helps. Ativan is more for anxiety but it does help me sleep, I've been sleeping off and on all day today. I'm trying to watch the Colts play but am missing a lot. I did just wake up enough to get up and eat. I hope our wonderful weather makes it your way. Much love, Janet

  • Little Love

    IUPUI (09/13/09)

Hi Linda, Here's a little love for such a great friend. How great that your counts are normal. I'll take chocolate any day. I am so sensitive to lower hemoglobins. Once they go below normal I just start to fade. I know that feeling of dread about going to chemo. Sort of like voluntarily standing in front of a speeding train waiting for it to hit you. You are amazing to have done it for so long but I know you have a strong drive to survive and will keep doing what it takes. I slept somewhat better last night. Take care, love, Janet
