    • About Me

I'm sure that my life is like so many others. I cherish my family, lucky to still have Mom and Dad, two very special sisters with spouses and children, I am married to the most wonderful man, I work, travel, eat too much, sleep too little, a true romantic, sunsets at the ocean are one of my most favorite things besides my grown children and my adorable grandson. I look forward to networking with those who are afflicted with Fibromyalgia / Chronic Fatigue / Chronic Pain. However, welcome others, we all have something to share!

I don't have fibro so I won't join the group, already a member of too many LOL, but anyway wanted to say I agree with you on the issue of pain meds and their use, and that a smear campaign by those who don't need them or are busy judging those who abuse them doesn't make it any easier for people who need them and use them responsibly.

I know here in Canada the doctors are very paranoid about giving out pain med scripts. It is really bad in some cases.

What I don't understand is why in Michael Jackson's case, when the guy had so much to live for, why he didn't! I just don't get it. These rich and famous don't seem to love life as much as we poorer folk! lol

We are here for you! If I were in your situation, when the bitching starts, I'd say "well, I see my being here is upsetting you," and leave. Each and every time. My father recently had surgery, had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and was basically demented for weeks afterward. He would start on those types of subjects too, and I refused to be his verbal punching bag. And, if your siblings don't get it, I'd refuse to discuss it with them and tell them that you will talk about anything else. Set your standards and don't let them cross it. Please vent here!

The FOCUS of the celebration! You NAILED it! That is exactly the way it is with my parents! My mother will find any old excuse to drink. The problem for her is that she is not a healthy person and takes a lot of pills and insists her drinking doesn't affect her health!

She will drink heavy every day and doesn't see anything wrong with it, but will be critical about all of her daughters because we are not scrawny and underfed like she is. She prides herself on her 'tan' and as a result her wrinkled skin looks like dried out leather most of the time.

      But that's mom! lol

Have a great friday! Peace and Blessings Love LaVivre

    • Close Fibromyalgia

Hi! I have been living with Fibromyalgia since 1996. I was not accurately diagnosed until August of this year and was also diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue at that time! No wonder I have been feeling so awful! I most recently had a bad interaction with a Fibro/CFS clinic and am once again searching for relief. My sister told me about DS and here I am. I am looking to network with others who want to live their lives to the fullest and help to show Fibro/CFS what's what! Warm Regards, ShelaBug

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Working / Worked
Since my break from the Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Clinic that did nothing more for me than take $$$$$ from my pocket! I have now gone back to my PCP who I trust and treats me with dignity. Very supportive of Fibro DS and am now taking 60mg of Cymbalta w/o difficulty. Works for pain 80% of time! Bonus!! Unaware of other effects as of yet.
      Heat Working / Worked
Heat usually helps with pain and stiffness.
      Vitamin B12 Working / Worked
I take self injections 3 x each week. I do notice that I have much more energy. I will continue this portion of the treatment.
      Ambien Working / Worked
When I do take this medication. It works very well. No known side effects.
      Baclofen Somewhat Helpful
I still have flare ups that nothing seems to touch.
      Tramadol Not Working
This pain medication gave me headaches with very little relief.
      Hydrocodone Working / Worked
This pain medication works well with a dose of 2 x daily MorningNight Since it is a narcotic I prefer to keep a low dose. It works very well for pain.

      NutriSystem Somewhat Helpful
Same old portion control fad. Weight returns once you fall back into your old eating habits. That is what you really must change. Keep your $$ in your pocket and don't buy into the hype.
      Weight Watchers Working / Worked
One of the better programs I've tried. Works when you "Work it"
