    • About Me

I'm a singleton with no kids! I was diagnosed with MS in May 2008. Thankfully, I have very mild symptoms so far. I\'ve battled severe depression off-and-on since age 13 (doing amazingly well since 2006 since starting Celexa, thankfully), so can deeply empathize with those who are struggling. I am humbled by this website. We ARE all in this together-- what a wonderful way to share and lend support, if only from a distance. My very best wishes to all the friends I\'ve yet to meet.

Thank you for being my friend. I am not sure I have this disease yet, but I have too struggled with severe depression since the age of 16, off and on. It has gotten better with age, and I sort of forced myself to get past it when I had kids. If I have this disease, and I will find out soon, it will put alot of things into perspective for me, as well as frighten the crap out of me. ((((Hugs))) Joely

Thank you, Sage! We have a lot in common - MS, dogs, being a singleton, liking reading, movies - AND - you live in CA! I don't anymore, and I miss it so! You live in a beautiful city! I'm glad your MS is mild - mine has progressed - but I'm not in a wheelchair now from MS (not directly, anyway), but from my ankle and knee injury! I look forward to getting to know you now that we are new friends! My best wishes to you and your pooches (do you have Shiba Inus?)

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I was diagnosed in May 2008. So far, my symptoms are mild-- numbness, tingling-- so I am lucky. The unpredictability scares me, but I'm using this as motivation to kick-start my life and not put things off.

      Treatments

      Copaxone Too Soon to Tell
I have no idea if it's working or not. I'm doing well, yes, but that doesn't mean it's the Copaxone that's doing it! That's one of the scary things about all of this. It's One Big Mystery.
    • Close Depression
      Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

I've battled severe depression since I was 13, and in 2006 spent 9 months in Hell, with depression so severe I was holding on by a thread. Finally, Celexa helped, and I've been okay for 2 years. I am so grateful; there aren't words. I just want the med to keep working... I understand and would like to be of support to anyone struggling with this misunderstood disease.

      Treatments

      Celexa Working / Worked
Celexa was the 5th medicine I tried and it worked immediately. I take it every night with a feeling of intense gratitude!
    • Open Vegetarians & Vegans
      Type: Lacto-ovo vegetarianism (No meat)

I'm finally doing this. I love the taste of meat, but can't stand the REALITY of it anymore! I'm being a hypocrite if I say I "love animals" and then eat them. I'm excited that my diet is now flesh-free.
