Are you willing to work hard in order to succeed? To go all out? Are you willing to sacrifice certain pleasures because your time and energy must be devoted to your goal? If so, then you must possess the key to success. Few extraordinary things ever get accomplished without commitment.
Total commitment is not just hard work, it is total involvement. For example, building a brick wall is back-breaking work. There are some people who build brick walls all their lives. And when they die, they leave behind miles of walls, mute testimonials to how hard they labored. But there are others who build walls, who place one brick on top of another but they do so with a vision - a goal - in mind. They visualize the end result - success.
Yet many people fear all-out commitment - to a person, a job, or a goal. Then mental consciousness of “the grass is greener” is a major roadblock to commitment. It implies that you have the option of quitting when things get tough. But commitment is based on the belief that “this is it.” People who are always looking “over there” for something better will never make it “over here.”
You will never move beyond the surface of a task into the heart of an opportunity if you run from one goal to another. Digging deep, or becoming serious about that which you desire, is the process that reveals the gems. It is often the last key on the ring that opens the door.
