Hello. I was diagnosed with MS in 2001 and recently received an additiona diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I am expecting my first child and am hoping these disease will not effect the birth in any way.

Treatments

Cymbalta Working / Worked

I was on Cymbalta for several years and it worked well for the most part but after being on it for so long, it's effects started to fade. I am now on Seroquel and it works wonders.

Duragesic Patch Working / Worked

I was on Fentanyl Patches for over a year. I got pregnant in July and had to be weened off of them. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. I officially stopped using them last month but still experience withdrawals if I do not have Lortab to take to combat them. They worked really well but I am going to choose to never go back on them again unless my MS or Fibromyalgia progresses further and I can not find any other medication to work.

Neurontin Not Working

I was prescribed this medication and the only thing it did was make the left side of my face go numb.

Vitamin B12 Somewhat Helpful

It's hard to say if this is helping but I will continue to take it in hopes that it is helping.

Hydrocodone Working / Worked

Even though Ive been prescribed to this drug for several years it continues to work pretty well for me.

Open Chronic Pain

Hello. I've been diagnosed with Chronic Pain Syndrome since 2001. It's been difficult to deal with at times but I finally feel like I've got a leg up on it.

Treatments

Chiropractic Adjustment Considering

I've been considering seeing a Chiropractor for awhile now. Once my baby is here, I'll probably start seeing one.

Cymbalta Working / Worked

It worked for me for awhile but eventually I had to change to a different medication.

Flexeril Not Working

Flexeril was just too weak of a drug for me.

Heat Somewhat Helpful

Using a heating pad helps a very tiny bit. So, I don't use it very often. Really the only time I do is when nothing else seems to be working.

Hydrocodone Working / Worked

Lortab helps me keep my sanity.

Lyrica Not Working

Tried it for a month and it did absolutely nothing.

Marijuana Working / Worked

I used this for about a year several years back and it worked wonders for my pain but it also led to me gaining just over 100lbs due to the muchies. I ended up having to have Gastric Bypass Surgery to lose the weight. It goes to say that I won't be using Marijuana again anytime soon.

Neurontin Not Working

It made the left side of my face go numb.

Oxycodone Working / Worked

Percocet worked great for me but not as good as Lortab.

Topamax Working / Worked

It worked well for me but because of other health problems, I had to stop using it.

Duragesic Patch Working / Worked

Worked perfectly but stopping using them was one of the most difficult things Ive ever done. I dont plan on using them again once the baby is here.

Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

I've suffered from depression since my early teen years. I am currently prescribed to Seroquel. At one point, I was a cutter. I haven't cut though for over a year now.

Worked for awhile but was prescribed to it for so long, I had to change medications.

Lexapro Not Working

Was prescribed to this but it made my moods worse. So, I stopped it.

Psychotherapy Working / Worked

I live in a small town. So, when the local therapist left. I had to stop using this therapy.

Seroquel Working / Worked

I am currently prescribed to 600mg once daily of Seroquel. It keeps me sane and helps me sleep and avoid insomnia. I'd go nutty without it.

Wellbutrin Working / Worked

Was on it for awhile but ended up stopping it because I didn't see a huge different in my moods.

Open Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

Was diagnosed with MS on December 17, 2001.

Treatments

Avonex Working / Worked

Worked for a couple years but then stopped. I had the classic flu like symptoms. Was able to stop them with Tylenol.

Baclofen Not Working

Didn't work at all for me.

Copaxone Working / Worked

Copaxone seemed to work well. Hated having to remember to take a shot everyday though. Stopped using the therapy in April in order to conceive.

Neurontin Not Working

Made my face go numb.

Physical Therapy Working / Worked

After having a bad relapse, I was unable to walk. Did physical therapy and am now able to walk again.

Prednisone Working / Worked

Have been on this several times after relapes. The side effects suck but as long as it works, I'm willing to suffer through them.

Solumedrol Working / Worked

Been on this several times and it always seems to work. The side effects are terrible though. Major migraines, trembling violently, and over heating.

Tysabri Considering

Will be starting on this therapy in April 2009 after my son is born.

Open Prescription Drug Abuse

I am a recovering addict to Oxycontin. Recently overcame an addiction to Fentanyl Pain Patches. Trying to overcome an addiction to Lortabs. I have M.S., Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Pain Syndrome. I live in pain.

Open Self-Injury

I started SI my freshman year of college (1998) and cut for the last time in 2007 but am having to really fight the craving to start up again.

Had to stop this method due to insurance.

I promised my husband I would stop cutting July 2007 when he proposed to me. I've been able to not cut since that day but I'm going through some stuff right now that is making it extremely difficult not to. I rely on him to get everything in my head out so that I can deal with it.

Tattoos Working / Worked

I have 5 tattoos and 2 piercings. All of which I got to satisfy that need. It works but can be expensive. I'll be getting another tattoo next year in April.

Open Healthy Sex

I'm a newlywed and am currently pregnant with our first child. Sex drive is finally back and hubby is reaping the benefits!

Open Paranoia

Have had issues with agoraphobia in the past. Finally got past it and now I'm having extreme paranoia in the evenings once I'm in bed. No idea what's causing it or how to handle it.
