    • About Me

I have been diagnosed with medium to severe RA about a year and a half ago (but have been suffering symptoms of RA for at least a year prior to my diagnosis). I had some upheavals early on but as soon as I started treatment with Methotraxate and Prednisone, things settled down. At this time, my Methotraxate dose is at the max (20 mg. per week) and my Prednisone dose is low (5 mg per day). Other than this, I am just about pain-free and feeling great most of the time. I exercise daily and I am enjoying my life more than I ever had before RA. And, yes, I find it just as unbelievable that I am feeling so well as anyone else does and I feel very blessed to be the receiver of this gift.

I am a newly-wed (married for about two and a half years) with three children and a grandma to one smart and beautiful granddaughter. My daughter is an adult and my two sons are teen-agers. I work as a teacher, mostly on-line, and run a whole bunch of other 'projects' on the side. Outside of work, I like to watch TV, cook "macrobiotic", eat out, read, write, walk, and socialize with family and friends.

What a nice surprise to see your butterfly again. I've been thinking about you a lot and missing you. I imagine you being very busy, and I'm hoping your happy, healthy and thriving. My life has been hectic and good. I'm off in the morning for a few days, but I'll write you when I get back. Love and hugs, doug
