WEll I am 46 and going thru it all now, everything your sister is going thru is exactly where I am now. They say this dsease is rare? I think not, it is rude, at times unforgiving, and demeaning... I want to be able to hold my grandbaby when its born without worry of dropping I have till May to get better! I too am out on STD from my employer. THanks for your support and encouraging words, hug your sister!

    • Close Myasthenia Gravis

My sister has severe MG. She has weathered three crises.

      Treatments

      IVIG Somewhat Helpful
Onset of MG in Feb 08. Severe breathing problems, swallowing impossible. IVIG has minimized muscle loss for eyes, vocal cords, but only temporarily
      Mestinon Somewhat Helpful
Mestinon and prednisone have begun to kick in a bit. Had pacemaker put in for heart; feeding tube for nourishment/meds.
