rule of 3... is it a coincidence or is it really just fate in my case?
Everything seems to happen in 3s especially in my life. When I was really little and turned 4 I didn't want to turn 4 because I would no longer be 3. My birthday is April 3. Up until last year all good things happened in 3s followed by all bad things happened in 3s.... It was annoying.
So if the other week was my 3rd time in the hospital this year in theory I should be done with the hospital for a while until the rule of 3 turns over right???
Another thing I have been pondering is how coincidence and fate coincide with each other.... Is fate mere coincidence? Am I just crazy?
Why is the big question I have always asked myself. Why has become even more prevalent since my diagnosis and progression of the disease. The easy answer is God, however I am a philosopher by hobby more or less... I got a minor in philosophy in undergrad . Why do these things have to happen to me? What is the purpose? Is there a purpose? Is science all we think it is? How do science and spirituality go hand in hand? Do they?
Unfortunately I didn't have time to take any of the really deep philosophy classes in which examine existence and fate. Most of my classes were centered around ethics and a little on epistemology. I can rattle off to you without even thinking Kant's categorical imperative or Peter Singer's give till it hurts theory, but I don't have answers to everything.
I did take Philosophy of Science my last semester of undergrad. More or less it made me question the how do you know that was always so black and white before. I gotta love how college turns black and white into gray. Well philosophy goes one step further and turns the black and white that outlines the gray area into gray as well as turning everything gray. Philosophers have no answers only questions and theories. We are programmed to say "Ok you have a good point but........."
More or less this programming got me in trouble my first couple months on DS.... lol but...
Point being... Karl Popper is one guy that sticks out from my Philosophy of science class. His work basically states that we cannot prove anything to be absolutely true, but we can through trial, error and discovery only prove things to be false. Medicine operates on this premise unfortunately a lot of times... unintentionally I would like to think. Is medicine proving anything? I would like for once medicine and science to prove something for me....
Of course theres always the deeper how do you know questions with that which I could have a lot of fun pissing someone off by essentially doing the hyperbolic "If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, does it make a sound... " symbolistic argument.... How do you know your medicine is working? If you can't see the medicine working how do you know that it worked? Just because you feel better how do you know the medicine worked? How do you know that the McDonalds diet isn't the best thing for X condition? (a little extreme there but I could still have fun creating doubt and essentially getting a person to doubt science enough to consider the McDonalds diet for a little bit) How do you know if your eyes are seeing what they are seeing? How do we know that the earth is round? How do we know?
Ok so I am in a slightly philosophical mood... So Bite ME!! and make my diarrhea go away while you are at it lol...

I like the points you made but I am not sure I can take the diarrhea away and I am not sure if I want to bite you just yet lmao
jlarvizu
ha.... If you cant do that then you are no good then... ha ha ha
just kidding around!
Thinking sometimes gets me in trouble though... So I figured I would think on the computer and see what responses I got... Now on to figuring out the diarrhea..
dihenry
So I have a question what came first the chicken or the egg? It is an honest question lol
jlarvizu
Is the chicken real? Is the egg really an incomplete chicken? Does evolution exist? Did the chicken morph from an amoeba? Did I create the chicken? How do we know the chicken even exists?
lol
dihenry
in all theory the chicken came first I think lol
