got back from houston - trip was great. it was a very restful vacation-my friend and her family were wonderful gratious and kind giving i felt very much at home and welcome. i didn't hear from my male friend who lives down there close, but i am reconciled to that. i have written him off and will no longwer spend time worrying about him or why he didn't take the time to come and see me or to even phone and explain why...he couldn't. my 10 yr old grandson thinks i should send him underwear and socks for christmass as those are the presents he hates the most. i won't bother with anything. i am fine i will be fine and life is good
I AM AT WORK - GETTING READY TO LEAVE NEXT SUNDAY TRO GO TO HOUSTON FOR THANKSGIVING.I AM EXCITEDAND TERRIFIED. FIRST TRIP I HAVE TAKEN SINCE MY STROKE AND I AM GOING SOLO. WAS HOPING TO MEET UP WITH A PERSON THAT I HAVE TAKED TO FOR ABOUT 9 YEARS BUT NEVER MET... TERRIFIED ABOUT THAT AS WELL. WE MET WAY BEFORE MY STROKE SO I AM MORE NERVOUS ABOUT HOW I LOOK NOW.... BEFORE I WAS JUST FAT - I HAVE LOST 100 LBS BUT I AM WALKING WITH CANE W/ AFO BRACE ON MY FOOT- AND MOST OF THE TIME I FEEL LIKE A CRIPPLE. IT IS HARD TO DRESS UP WHEN YOU ARE SPORTING A CLUMSY BRACE WITH TENNIS SHOES. VERY ATTRACTIVE! OH WELL IT IS WHAT IT IS AND AS POPEYE SAYS " I YAM WHAT I YAM!"

yesterday, when i was feeling low, i went to salon and got my hair colored and my brows waxed- never did any waxing before - now i am hooked...it was like a brow lift with no surgery. i am retiurning on wed to get manicure. i am getting ready for my trip- just pray it doesn't snow this weekend. i would hate to drive to airport - 2 hours on ice, although the cold will make the gulf of mexico sweeter! carry on

LAST DAY OF WORK BEFORE CVACAK! YEAH. VERY EXCITED, EVEN THOUGH MY FRIEND WON'T BE ABLE TO HOOK UP WITH ME-THAT WAS A BUMMER BUT IT WAS ANOTHER CASUALTY OF HURRICANE SEASON - HE IS JUST SWAMPED. BUT I WILL HAVE GREAT TIME ANYWAY VISITING WITH MY GF WHO I HAVE NOT SEEN IN 20 YEARS!.
