Hang in there with your mom, enjoy all of it, try to talk to her about the things that are worrying her and what is worrying you, don't I know about the bull that significant others can bring....... i wanted to spend every minute i could with my brother because he was getting so weak and had lost so much weight..... my husband said I shouldn't go during memorial weekend because of the traffic..... I ended up going anyways, my brother passed away that weekend without me there, i knew cpr mom and I both could have worked on him until the ems got there, but I'm sure my brother would have been mad at us if we saved him and he had to continually get worse with the lung cancer, but the hurt I feel torwards my husband still continues.... He got angry because I was going to visit them this weekend for my brothers birthday..... I'm the only child now, I can't just forget I have a mom and dad ya know. Do what you feel is best for you and your mom and you will not have any regrets.......

Hi- i went through this with my father almost 9 years ago...it's not easy, all the ups and downs. try to keep positive, and don't ever hold back emotions, because it will effect you later down the road(i'm the only out of three siblings that faced the situation and spent every single day with my father!) best of luck to you and yours!

    • Close Lung Cancer

54 year old mother dx extensive small cell lung cancer mid Sep 2008. Doctors say 1 year, with okay short period. She feels on top of the world as the treatment is working. Dont want to break her heart, but she is being unrealistic and making decisions that will have consequences for my father and sister!
