I am 41 years old. I am happily married to my hubby of almost 16 years. I have to beautiful sons. Ian is 15 and has Aspergers. Aaron is 9 years old and has PDD-NOS, epilepsy and other medical issues. I have OCD and severe anxiety disorder. I am a Nurse and I teach my children at home.

Close Autism / Autism Spectrum
Hello! I have two children on the Autism spectrum. My oldest is 13 and has Aspergers and my youngest is 7 and and has High functioning Autism and many many medical issues. I am interested in finding as much information as possible to help them.
Treatments
- ABA Considering
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- Early Intervention Too Soon to Tell
- I didn't have early intervention with my oldest. My youngest at had Early intervention and I do think we are going to have a far better outcome.
- Occupational Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- The only thing is that here locally they do not understand older children need different types of OT
- Physical Exercise Somewhat Helpful
- Picture / Word Schedules Working / Worked
Close ADHD / ADD
Both of my children are on the Autism spectrum and have comorbids of ADHD.
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have depression. I have had it and severe anxiety for a long time. I finally was able to say Yes...I am depressed. I have a very stressful life. A disabled hubby, 2 children on the Autism Spectrum and a lot of stress at home and at work.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Ilove this medication. It has saved me!!!
- Lexapro Not Working
- This medication did nothing but make me sick.
- Paxil Not Working
- I didn't have side affects just no results.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- This works great.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- But without insurance I just don't have the money to go.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- I have a very supportive husband and a few good friends who are there to talk to and help me sort out my feelings. I would be lost without them all.
- Writing Working / Worked
- This helps me the most I think.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- It worked but then I started swelling from it in my legs and then it seemed to just stop working.
Open Asperger Syndrome
I have a child age 13 who has Aspergers. I also have a neice who who is 6. I am allmost 99.9% sure my hubby has this as well, tho he doesn't have a diagnosis
Open Epilepsy & Seizures
My little guy will soon be 9 in August. He remains on Keppra. He has two forms of seizures. He has silent seizures and the full blown grand mal ones.
Treatments

- Diastat Working / Worked
- Dilantin Not Working
- Made him sleep all the time
- Keppra Working / Worked
- Love this medicaton!
- Tegretol Somewhat Helpful
- But he slept all the time.
Open Hypothyroidism
I was diagnosed 6 years ago with hypothyroidism. IT was my OB/GYN who finally figured out what was wrong with me!
Treatments
- Synthroid Working / Worked
- working, but have had to have increased alot in the past 6 months.
Open Hysterectomy
I had a laproscopy done 6/12/ after being told my uterus was enlarged. Now I am told I need a hysterectomy. I am looking for some good advice from others and support.
Open Anxiety
I have anxiety issues since a child. I didn't know what was wrong. I always considered myself just a worrier. Recently I found out that I have a severe anxiety disorder. I also have panic attacks and OCD. I am currently taking Cymbalta. Which I feel is helping alot.

- This didn't work for me.

- Makes me sleepy!
- Breathing Exercises Working / Worked
- Breathwork Working / Worked
- Helps to some degree
- Lexapro Not Working
- Made me really sick!
- Meditation Working / Worked
- I love to do this and it helps me so much!
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- Helping a lot!
- Xanax Working / Worked
- Does really well for me but makes me tired as well.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Worked for awhile, but then seemed to have a lot of break through anxiety.
Open Parents of Children with ADHD
I have two boys who have comorbids of ADHD with their spectrum disorders.
