I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in November 2007. I try so hard, but I am so weak and filled with pain all the time. It is worse with the cold weather. I also Have CFS, DDD, OsteoArthritis, back problems,etc... My disability insurance says fibromyalgia is not considered disabling. I wish they could feel this way for a few weeks, they might think differently.

Close Fibromyalgia
I tried to keep working as long as I could, but between the pain, fatigue, and "fibro-fog" I could no longer do it. Many days I could not get out of bed. I have been off work since December 14, 2007. I did apply for Social Security Disability, but was denied. I am now appealing that decision with a lawyer.

- Duragesic Patch Working / Worked
- worked great, but my present doctor will not keep me on narcotics
- Heat Working / Worked
- I use heat many times
- Lyrica Not Working
- My hands and feet swelled, and my vision was very blurred. I did not take very long.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- worked well, but present doctor will not let me take narcotics
- Ultram Working / Worked
- this is what I take now. It dulls my pain, but not as well as the morphine or fentanyl
Close Degenerative Disc Disease
I had a back surgery in 2004. It was a fusion and laminectomy at L4/L5. The surgery was very complicated. I no longer had a disc, the bone was ground against bone. That was the first I was told that I had degenerative disc disease. My parents are both diseased, and I really have no health record. So I do not know if it was inherited. But I do have pain constantly, especially in colder weather.
