About Me
I'm smart (smart ass), funny, attractive and love myself when I'm sober. And I'm humble! I've been told a few times I don't look like an alcoholic. Oh really... I was NOT functional when at my worst and while I am confident I could have achieved a lower low, totaling my car, losing my license for two years, getting fired, visiting the ER twice in the last year (once for severe withdrawal, once unconscious from alcohol poisoning), mucking up relationships and my reputation were certainly a good start. None of these things made me stop.

38 and the Usual for us folks... sick and tired of being sick and tired. Wrecked my car in DWI last October and lost my license for two years with another year to go. Fired in May '08 from a career as a mortgage loan officer. I could blame it on this crappy market but it was totally my undoing. I read alot, love my dogs and don't know why my live-in boyfriend puts up with me.
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- When I've dealt with withdrawal, this has been great.
- Campral Working / Worked
- Campral has been great but go figure... I don't crave but still drink anyway sometimes. No side effects.
- Cold Turkey Not Working
- I don't have enough fingers to count how many times I tried this and failed.
- Naltrexone Not Working
- Well, it made me projectile vomit frequently, even when I didn't drink. I was only taking half the dose, too.
- Outpatient Treatment Program Not Working
- I'm in a state mandated DWI 16 visit treatment. I have 4 more. When the counselor was abusive when I was honest about drinking the day before, I stopped giving my input. She's of the AA Is The Only Way school. I am not.
- Willpower Working / Worked
- Ask me after the 5th glass of wine.
