About Me
I am a retired engineer. I miss my job and the people I worked with, but can no longer work because of my fibro. I'm married to an incredibly loving and supportive husband, I couldn't get through this without him. I have two daughters and two fur babies. I'm in the process of going on disability and it's been a nightmare but I have a wonderful Dr. and he has been an angel through this process.

Interests
I love reading, playing with my dogs, decorating and traveling. When the world gets me down, walking on the beach with my husband as the sun comes up is about as close to heaven as I can get. I'm very spiritual and rely greatly on my faith to get me through this crazy life.

HI Kim Cocoa monster is fine she is getting bigger by the day, her papers say that she is fixed, but I am starting to wonder if that is true, I swear that she looks pregnant. I will be sched her a vet visit for the yearly check up and vacinations, they can tell me if she is with kittens or not. Work has been busy, I am just really tired am not able to sleep more than a few hrs at a time. I am wore out. How are you doing these days? Hugs back to you.

Close Fibromyalgia
I have had fibromyalgia for 16 years now and up until last year I had periods of time that it got worse and then would get better, but a year ago it took a very ugly turn and no one has been able to determine why. I have been told that FM is not progressive but I beg to differ with the Doctors on this point. I am now disabled because of this disease.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- Didn't really work for me
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- This pain med has been a life saver
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Trying it again for a second time, seem to have some relief. UPDATE: This is making me depressed and agitated and I feel like I'm recovering from a hangover, I'm starting to remember why I went off of it the 1st time....ARGHH
- Morphine Working / Worked
- Made me ill
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- This has been very good for depression
Close Chronic Pain
I have had Chronic pain for many years now. I'm sure it goes hand in hand with my fibromyalgia, but my worst pain is in my lower back, it's constant and never goes away.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- Didn't do anything to help, I think it might have made it worse.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- This has been a life saver. Only thing that keeps me functioning
- Lyrica Not Working
- To many side effects
- Morphine Not Working
- made me ill
- Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
- This worked for about 4 weeks, but I can only take them 2x a year so I haven't had another one yet
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- This definately helps to take some of the edge off.
Open Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Just recently dx with MPS. I think that I have known for years that I have it, seems like it goes hand in hand with fibromyalgia which I have had for about 17 years now. Somehow it seems to help knowing that what it is has a name.
