Close Sjogren's Syndrome
Spent nearly a year visiting every kind of Dr. until finally someone had an answer. Taking meds for over a year and found really no improvement.
Treatments
- Restasis Too Soon to Tell
- Methotrexate Too Soon to Tell
- Folic Acid Too Soon to Tell
- Prescribed with MXT to improve oral ulcers
- Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
- Seems to help with the inflammation
Close Diabetes Type 2
Family history, obesity eventually won out - for most of my adult life I dieted and exercised and ate well and I may have forestalled it's appearance but now I am insulin resistant and require injections to control BS on a low carb diet
Treatments
- Actos Somewhat Helpful
- Dr. Changed up meds when A1c was high
- Byetta Working / Worked
- Taken it with oral meds as well as insulin - works - side effects suck but do improve with continued use
- Dietary Modification Somewhat Helpful
- Low carb diet and eating five times a day prevents really high highs and lows but a lot of work
- Humalog Working / Worked
- Injecting seemed like a big thing but once doing it got easy - brings me into control fast - low BS on occasion is unpleasant
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
- Humulin N - BS under control with Humalog and Byetta
- Januvia Not Working
- Dr. changed up meds - did not see improvement with BS
- Lantus Somewhat Helpful
- Could not control BS for a full 24 hours with this medication
- Metformin Working / Worked
- Horrible intestinal problems, hair began falling out - worked for a while but eventually the high doses seemed not to be worth it

- Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
- sometimes it helps if it is not too bad of a head ache seems to make the imitrex work a little bit better
- Tylenol Not Working
- never worked for a headache

- if I catch it right in the beginning this will work but does not seem effective if I have been suffering for a while
