Sounds like you left the doctors feeling a bit confused I must say I find it a bit confusing too. If you are seeing him again in three weeks then that isn't very long to wait to get the answers you want. The only type of Ovarian cancer that you normally don't require chemo for is a 'Granulosa' type tumour.. Is that what they said you had.. or did they suspect a cancer and then discovered from tests, after the op, that it wasn't cancer? I think that in some circumstances if they catch a tumour very early on, stage 1a, that they might hold back on chemo, but often give it anyway as a precaution.. I find it helps to write down questions to ask at these appointments and also to take someone with me as it isn't always easy to take everything in and it's good to have someone to go over what was said with.. I also think you are right, that a month isn't necessarily enough time to recover from such a procedure.. so take it easy until you feel better and at ease with your situation. I noticed you sent me a celebration hug.. so hopefully that means you are happy with the out come.. in which case.. great news.. but your words sound like you are a bit unsure about the way you have been treated.. I'm off to London for the weekend so won't be around for a couple of days.. Hope you have a great weekend.. hugs to you xxx

I'm With You
Halli (11/06/08)
I was new here just over a year ago now and have made some fabulous friends.. even took a trip to the US, after my treatment, and met some of them in person.. I had a wonderful time.. It's a great resource here, with people who can understand what you are going through like no one else can. Best of luck with the visit to the doctors tomorrow. I will be hoping that it's all good news. xxx

Hiya and welcome to Daily Strength.. I'm with the Ovarian Cancer support group and they are a fabulous bunch of women.. I would not have come through my recurrence so well without their support and from sharing information and good ideas. Scary business.. but from the little I've read it seems like you caught it very early on. Are you having any follow up treatment after your op? I know that with certain types of tumour that a hysterectomy is all that is requited.. hoping that is what you had and that you are recovering well.. I imagine you will be having regular check ups.. Here for you should you want someone to be.. Wishing you the best.. Inka xxx
