Thanks for getting back with me. She is scheduled to have a different feeding tube put in on Monday. Im so glad to hear something positive and I will check in to that for her. I read your post and understand your frustration. I uderstand the line of a million tests and meds. I gained 20 lbs in 3 months last year after a lifetime of being tall and thin. I have done everything to lose the weight and it's very depressing. Keep your chin up hopefully things will get better. Just take it one day at a time. NEVER give up. Hopefully by hearing the stories of others you can keep going.

Close Endometriosis
Diagnosed with Endo at 16. Depo-Lupron, Depo-Provera, and birth control pills have been the treatment to no avail. Diagnosed with a fibroid tumor in 2002. Birth control pills caused migraines. Finally gave up all treatment. I now am controlling symptoms with organic apple cider vinegar (as strange as that may seem). Found the remedy after considering a hysterectomy due to pain and horrible bleeding. Periods decreased from 9 HEAVY days to 2 moderate and 1 light day (cycle is now 4 days).
Treatments
- Extended-Cycle Birth Control Not Working
- No breakthrough bleeding but the one period every 3 months was horrible with the cramping and bleeding. Headaches, weight gain.
- Laser Surgery Working / Worked
- Temporarily worked for about 10 months and then symptoms returned each time. Surgery performed twice. Side effect: extreme navel sensitivity.
- Progesterone Cream Not Working
- Used for 3 months and could not tell a difference. It has to be a certain strength. Most are not above the necessary strength to do much.
Close Sarcoidosis
Brother with sarcoid with appointment for lung transplant. He's 27.

- Methotrexate Not Working
- Worked at first but no longer working.
- Prednisone Not Working
- Worked at first but no longer working.
Open Hypothyroidism
Diagnosed with hypothyroidism one year ago even though I knew for 4 years that I had it. It took several doctors before I found one who would treat me because my tests were "normal" but I had a goiter on the right side of my neck.
Treatments
- Cytomel Working / Worked
- I began Cytomel in June by itself. My #'s crashed. Was previously on Synthroid and convinced by doc to let me do both Cytomel and Synthroid. Feel better but still extremely tired all the time.
- Synthroid Working / Worked
- Began with this treatment. Switched to Cytomel. #'s crashed and now am on both Synthroid and Cytomel. Still extremely fatigued but better than it was.
- Armour Thyroid Working / Worked
- Started Armour Thyroid on Tuesday, 04/28/09. Swelling in my neck has already subsided and I can feel my dark mood lifting.
Open Arnold-Chiari Malformation
I kept having severe headaches and ended up having a MRI on 12/10/04. My docs said it was fine but I obtained a copy of the MRI which said Chiari I malformation and a number of high intensity spots on FLAIR images in the supratentorial white matter. I'm confused and annoyed by my docs not telling me anything. A recent MRI, 11/28/08, showed the same. Do I have Chiari I and would that explain my myraid of symptoms over the last 11 years? I feel so alone.
