I just graduated college. I'm am hoping to be a secondary art teacher. (Let me know if you know of any upcoming job openings! :D ) I believe that our only hope is Jesus Christ, he sure has provided for me in amazing ways and the only thing I can do to reciprocate is to give him the credit. Yay God! I like playing guitar and various other stringed instruments... although I'm certainly not amazing. I like to waterski, bike, rollerblade, paint, draw, shop, and play board games with my awesome roomies and friends. In general, I'm a pretty weird/random person.

Close Acromegaly
I went to the doctor with the worst headache ever, they thought it was a migraine and gave me two IV bags and some pain killer. They almost sent me home when my head started feeling better but then we noticed my left eye wasn't opening. Turns out the tumor had broken through my skull and was pressuring the 3rd cranial nerve controlling my eyelid. They sent me to get an MRI... they admitted me, got the transphenoidal surgery. Now I'm waiting for the full blood work and follow up.
Treatments
- Octreotide Considering
- Well, actually I'll start in a couple of weeks.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- This is to replace the cortisol. If I miss a dose or take it late I get a headache that whole day... so I can assume its working.
Close Hypothyroidism
I was diagnosed with acromegaly in October (acromegaly is caused from a benign tumor on the pituitary gland). 2 weeks later I had a surgery to remove the tumor, the pituitary gland ended up getting taken too. So, I have a definciency in most my hormone areas. I'm on 88 mg of levothyroxin now.
Treatments
- Synthroid Working / Worked
- Didn't take too long to figure out a dose that seems too work. I believe it's working. (Hair loss? not sure if it was a symptom or side effect)
