I am so sorry you are having a tough time and I'm sorry for your loss. I think that time dulls the pain, but you never get over it. It's like losing a loved one. We move on, but we don't forget. There will be better moments. *HUGS*

I am sorry for your loss! There is no appropriate length of time to "get over it" and those who believe that don't understand because they've not endured this experience. There are better moments and better days. Today isn't a good day, so I'm just going from moment to moment, and I'm okay with that. Be sure to allow yourself to grieve and deal with the loss of your child.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was also surprised when I got pregnant for the first time at 39 after 17 years of being married. I also had a hard time dealing with the loss. It will get better for you. It just takes lots of time and patience!! Take Care

Close Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
I have had posttraumatic stress disorder for my whole life as a result of my mother's dissociative episodes. She was not aware of these daily intense episodes and could not control them, so I do not blame her. But I still have to live with the effects.
Treatments
- Art Working / Worked
- After doing art, I feel calmer. It also helps me to indirectly deal with memories and emotions I could not experience or confront directly. This is incredibly useful. Better than therapy.
- Music Working / Worked
- I play music and listen to music every day. It is an essential "treatment" for me. It makes me feel calmer and more confident. It also helps me to indirectly deal with memories and emotions I could not experience or confront directly. This is incredibly useful. Better than therapy.
- Reading Somewhat Helpful
- Depends on the book. If nothing else, it is a method of relaxation. At best, it gives me new ideas and new ways of looking at life, which is always helpful.
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- After being on 3 mg day for a few weeks I stopped having flashbacks. No other psych drug has had any effect on my flashbacks which are quite intense and give me suicidal thoughts and panic attacks. The Klonopin has also gotten rid of my social anxiety and is gradually making a difference with other phobias and selective mutism. The longer I am on 4 mgday taken at regular intervals the better I feel. Even better no side effects.
Close Other Ear Problems
I have auditory processing disorder.
Open Caregivers
My fiance and my mother both have a number of health problems. I do my best to help them out, but I can't do as much as I'd like to.
Open Cirrhosis
My boyfriend has it. I'm here to learn and support him.
Open Miscarriage
I had one, by surprise, in April, on my first day in the country I had just moved to. Didn't even know I was pregnant. Turned out I was for 2 months. Lost a lot of blood, and recovery was horrible.
Open Hepatitis C
My boyfriend has had it since before it was known to exist. I might have it too - still have to get tested.
