About Me
I have 2 awesome kids, one son and one daughter; & 3 grandchildren. One girl, Rachel and 2 boys, Davis & Matthew. As far as having MS, it was a shock, to say the least. Since, I made a conscious decision before I get out of bed, to have a good day. I helps to get through the bad days. I used to be a body builder & exercise freak, hiking, horseback riding, & rock climbing. When MS reared it's ugly head I had to change some things around a little as it does not like when my body does a lot of these things. However, I do try to do some of them if not most I just modify them and quit when I have to. I've had 6 spinal fusions due to rapid disc degeneration; last one was 4 weeks ago. I'm a diehard rock & roller. I have always had a fascination with Jimi Hendrix. Even my mousepad and screen saver is Jimi. LOL. I saw him at Woodstock, along with the many others that were there, & I was awestruck by his talent. Shame. I have an appreciation for all types of music though as my parents raised my sister & I on Billy Holiday & the big bands. My mother was a classical pianist which I followed until the early 70's when I "knew" better & quit. I have a possitive outlook 80% of the time and I deal with the other 20%.

Interests
I am an amateur watercolor artist and gourd artist. I carve and burn designs in & onto gourds, sometimes I paint and inlay beads, semi-precious stones etc. into them. I tend to lean towards the oriental style of painting. I'll post some pics later. I love working with my hands; knitting, woodworking, sewing and any other domestic thing one could think of.

Hi Jan XOXOXO If that's not ur name....I'm sorry but my brain is not that sharp anymore. I hope U r feeling well when u read this. I've been collecting SSDI for almost 3 years now. I don't know what I would've done if I didnt get it.

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Seconday Progressive MSI was misdiagnosed 16 yrs. ago with Fibromyalgia & put on tons of meds for that & gained a lot of weight & still didn't feel well. We moved 5 yrs. later & I had the MS hug but thought it was a heart attack. The ER just said, go get your eyes checked and go home and rest, it's your Fibro. I knew it wasn't. So I found a Dr. & told her she must listen to me, & she did. The last test she did was the MRI & that told the whole story.
Treatments
- Copaxone Working / Worked
- I was started on Avonex in the beginning and as they said the side effects would go away; they did not. So I just stopped taking it. Then after 6 months I was put on Co. I have been on Copaxone for 3 yrs. and have not have any new lesions. I've had 3-4 flare ups because of my own stupidity, hiking without water in the heat. In the beginning of use, the normal side-effects, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat. That lasted for about a month & I have no side effects at all anymore.
