    • About Me

I am 32 years old, mother of two wonderful boys - Tristan 3yrs old and Shilo 3 months old. My husband is South American, where we lived until recently until moving here to help care for my father after he suffered a brain injury. Now it's very strange because I'm the one who needs taken care of. I miss our life there, but love my role as mommy and it's mostly from my boys that I find strength.

Just saw the photos of your family and read your profile. Truly a beautiful family! I know what you mean about your kids giving you strength. Mine are older now (son is 16, daughter is 13) but they still continue to fill my life with happiness and excitement for the day, always something new. Sorry you had to leave your home in South America, but maybe your dads illness drew you back here for the medical care you needed. Hope he is doing better. I know you and I will be fine in the long run. It is just going to take a lot of patience and time. My mom used to say "time heals all wounds". You take care and enjoy those babies. I know that must be hard to and hope you get some help from others when you get pooped out. Take care and thanks for the comments and advice. It really helped.

    • Close Pulmonary Embolism

Two weeks after the birth of my second baby I started having severe leg pain and by day 2 suspected DVT. After a week of multiple visits and phone calls to doctors (in which they said I definitely didn't have DVT)I woke in night with severe chest pain. DVT/massive PE was confirmed, I almost died, and life has been upside down since.

      Treatments

      Heparin Working / Worked
Considering all of the treatments and IV's, this was just another piece of the mix. I'm much improved so I guess it worked.
    • Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

I'm a 32 year old mother of 2-Tristan 3 yrs and Shilo 3 months old. I have DVT after a very difficult breech delivery with my second son and have recently survived massive pulmonary embolism resulting from the DVT.

      Treatments

      Coumadin Working / Worked
I guess this is working although I've been freezing cold since starting this. My INR is still low and my dosage still being played with.
      Heparin Working / Worked
It was administered this while admitted in the hospital. With everything else going on I didn't notice anything special regarding this treatment.
      Lovenox Working / Worked
Only had to do injections for a couple of days after returning home from hospital. Hated doing it, thankfully was quickly transitioned to only coumadin.
    • Open Celiac Disease

      Treatments

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
Gluten Free Diet Working / Worked
    • Open Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer)

My grandmother was diagnosed a week ago with RCC.
