work, what stress! Mood
Saturday, September 12, 2009 | A Frustrating story
I have employee issues, the one guy who works for me, keeps dropping the ball and losing the store money
I wrote him up with some of the following braking things, not following up with customers ( so we can lost sales) we are this month about the slowest store. The trouble is that to get a day off  he has to be alone in the shop so that I can get a day off, I know that he has some physical problems and that he also takes pills for worries so much. I think when I am there he is taking too many pills, he is a person that needs supervision at all times. I have hired a lady( who I hope will work out) and she is starting the 25, it will take her a while to be able to be left alone. so then there are the following what do,  A about Ben ( who cannot be left alone)  B. getting two days off. I wrote to my boss telling her about the situation, asking to see if the store can be closed on Monday until the lady is trained. She emailed me back and asked how long it would have to be closed and if I was letting Ben go. I have not emailed her back yet. Ben does most of the physical work in the store ( today I did change one bed myself it felt like old times) all the folding etc.
So I would like to just cut him down to one day and do the physical work but I don't think my boss would go for it if I kept him, and still asked for the store to be closed so that I get a day off what do you think? I am all ready have the locks changed because he has 2 key, maybe he should just be let go. Change can be hard, I will think on it for a few days and know by Monday. Thanks for listening

Ohhhh the thrills of being at the mercy of employees huh???? I'm having a huge problem with this girl who we can't let go due to the legal issues of hours of the PT people. PT can't work more than 35 hours a week for more than 6 months or they are eligible for benefits. My company is a multi, multi, milion dollar corp and they won't pay benefits for more than the 3 managers. They have cut all of our hours, as well. So, because of the legal issues with hours we are stuck with this idiot! I can't go into details but she is BAD all the way around. Is Monday your slowest day? I know that my company won't close no matter what because a dollar is a dollar to them. Not even a horrible snow storm!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your sales are horrible on Mondays, I would think the company might just agree due to the cost of having someone in the store with no sales. Keep me posted, ok? I'm not sure what store you work for or what the physical stuff is. I know that there are times when i will get shipment that is over 85 boxes that weigh over 55 pounds each. The company policy is 25 pounds. It kicks my ass sometimes but it has to be done. Can this new woman do the physical stuff too? That way you aren't left alone doing it? Hugs my friend and I'm really glad you wrote this guy up!!! Don't be upset either, maybe he will get his shit together now that he knows he can't get away with his crap anymore. These people don't realize they work for a business. To most it is just a job!

nope I let him go Monday, it was not too bad he just said ok and left, I guess I had all the locks changed for nothing but who knew. The other sales lady is older but she should be able to change a bed.
this week I will be working for 6 days and then next week we will be open from 2p to 6p Monday and Tuesday so that will add up to a 8 hour day off but not really.
