i really hope your husband gets the support that is needed. I was chatting to a lady and she said a serious side effect from humira is extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, breathlessness, mood changes and change in thought pattern, memory loss and concentration. I fit all those things and think that is why she could quickly tell me to get to a dr, which i did yesterday. I had my bloods done today, and i am quite disorientated and cannot believe how i feel... struggle to drive and use any mucles, even typing this. Sometimes people with crohn's or colitis have to accept they may need to change a career for a healthier lifestyle... i know i have had to give up my job and maybe work in an office but sitting all day and using my hands soo much will effect theose joints.. It is very difficult to decide what to do... though you seem to be very supportive for your husband and i can tell you regardless of how is feeling, he appreciates and loves you more for persevering through this. Im at a rough stage at the minute wher i feel very much alone and my parents and sister think i can change my mood when i want and have energy when i need it.. and it doesnt work like that. Your children will come to an understanding eventually but while they see their dad change , you , im afraid need to have the extra strength to keep persevering!!!! It is fab that you are very interested because you are on this.... it encourages me, and is something i might consider for my parents or sister to do, so they can hear other peoples stories. I have crohns for 16years and still feel i have very little knowledge and same for my family... so we dont know how to handle it

Rainbow
Patswife (05/13/09)
I am so upset, this life shouldn't happen to anyone. If it does, why does it happen to good people? Ya know what...I pretty much give up.

Okay, I just read what med's he's on, my hubby takes the same. I actually tried Humira for my RA-ended up in the ER with a terrible reaction, but that's not uncommon for me. I know a lot of people that have great success with it though for RA, UC I'm not sure. You would need great insurance though-it is super expensive. Keep me posted! xoox J

I'm With You
ReedM (11/09/08)
Private response to your post. I have taken none of the meds your husband is taking so I can't answer those questions. On the depression this is a huge life change for both of you some individual or joint counseling may be in order. On hittting the boottle i am available if you ever want to discuss that. See my profile. May I just say it is not the answer it will not make anuything better. God bless you and your husband.
