Had a relapse after 50 days (the longest i've ever been sober since starting to drink). The lapse was a bad one as i was already on probation …
I live in the Canadian Artic and work in administration most of the time but have recently had to resign my position due to bad choices in lifestyle. Now I'm trying to figure out what i want to be when i grow up and hope that joining this site will help out. It seems like there are a lot of excellent people here and I'm hoping to learn from them. I have a problem with alcohol and have been diagnosed with PTSD.

I'm 48 years old and have been drinking for 30 years and it's been a problem since almost day 1 only I didn't catch it (I guess I'm not too swift!) I have used drinking for many reasons (to get to sleep, to block out memories, to ease stress, to combat shyness, you name it) and I have finally figured out it doesn't work. I have been through 1 stint in rehab 2 years ago and figured that if I quit for a while I could go back and drink like a regular person. Hoping this site will help.
